It looks like you and Nick have become seriously addicted to plants, trees and what you call shrubs. If you are having serious withdrawal symptoms call 911 and have an ambulance take you to the ER. If they decide to admit you hope you can share a room in the ICU. The first three or four days in detox are uncomfortable but it gets better. After discharge you might go to a meeting at Plants Anonymous. Also try Smart Veggie Recovery. Keep posting. Don't give up. You might choose the squirrel as your sponsor or even as your Higher Power. Good luck.
You're lucky to have a squirrel in your back yard. After we got married in 1955 we had only a "naked man" overlooking our back yard in Brooklyn Heights. Times have changed since then and many might prefer that these days but we thought a "naked man" inappropriate and undignified. A girl once proposed to me but I turned her down merely because her dad sat in the living room wearing his undershirt. He did have his trousers on. My father in law was always fully clothed. He was never naked in my presence or at our wedding. These days people might call him a "conservative."

Bill.

Dear Suze,

I'm glad you're back and doing well. You show a toughness that's hard to find.
Congrats Nick on four years plus.

Thanks. Then I'm a hootogeezer. Will be 90 in early May. I was sober when I was born. At least I may have been. In any event I would not have been the one who did the drinking. Having been part of the pipeline was involuntary.

Pleased you're home safe, Suze.
Lovely squirell and it probably is the same one! They're territorial as in much the squirell here goes to all our bird feeders. Cheeky! Been thinking of getting a squirell feeder, so the birds don't get his food. Should be interesting watching too as he has to lift the lid of the feeder to get at the nuts. Lol x

Mags ~ your signature quote is awesome. Empowering. ♥

Maybe I will see my squirrel again tomorrow.

I was protecting and hiding a possum in the laundry room in my apartment building in Melbourne for an entire year. It made me just as sad to say goodbye to that possum as it did to say goodbye to my neighbour's cats. It would be kind of awesome to be able to befriend a squirrel....he will need a name.

Didn't have enough time to take more photos today, but Nick bought me a few more plants. I keep telling him to stop me. Maybe we have enough plants now...maybe.

We will plant the rest of the flowers and the trees and shrub tomorrow, then photos. I can take one now of the kitchen ledge though.....

They go all the way around now.

There are a few that are not doing well, and I was going to let them go, but of course I couldn't....

Nick and I both seem to do very well with challenges.
No plant is going to get the better of us ~ OK, one or two already have.
But we are in charge now.

Great plants Suze, you and Nick will have a great time planting them out.

I'm part of a gardeners club online and some people go buy nearly dead plants in the sales from B&Q and re energise them so don't give up if the little ones are wilting a leaf or two, they can and do spring back into life. I know, I'm a serial killer of plants! Not intentionally I add, just haven't got green fingers.

Yeah, those words just caught me and I felt empowered! Lol

Oh yes, you must give Mr Squirell a name, please.

It looks like a bit of a tangled magic garden at the moment....it needs a good sweep and clean-up, and the blue plastic saucers are temporary.

And of course the straws will be replaced by a new fountainhead...we have so much to do, and we keep adding things to our list, so we will get to it. Soon.

The hyacinths died (thank God, pretty but they nearly killed me as I am so allergic)....I have gorgeous yellow snapdragons to plant there (I will do it today or tomorrow).

That tree, well, most of it was outside....hanging over the fence, desperately searching for water as no one had taken care of it for years. I dragged it all back in to our garden, and I love the crazy mess of it. It is going to be a very happy tree now.

They look fantastic, Suze.

Be careful getting up there to water them.

The rug is actually red....two shades of red, and the gerbera is orangey red...and looking back at the garden pic, it just looks very messy.

I will post again when I get it fixed up a bit.

VC, did I read your signature correctly...you're living in Columbus? My youngest did under and grad school there at Ohio St and is still living and working there.

Great city. I've traveled there on business for many years. I'll be there in June during a trip north to hang out, workout and eat tons of sushi with my baby girl. We should consider coffee?

Congrats to both of you.

My best,

Carlos

PS: The pics are very cool.
