24 Hour Recovery Connection Part 227
It's 9:47am in Michigan and I am committing to sobriety for the next 24 hours.
It's exactly 3 months until my 60th birthday. My birthday present to myself is to be free of this demon that has been haunting me for so long.
I must put in effort to my recovery each and every day as I think that is what has been missing.
If you're a praying person, please, say a prayer for me for to kick this to the curb already.
Thank you!

Here is a link to a thread that helped me really understand how alcohol is metabolized in our bodies and how it is truly just a legal poison. Education is key to beating this horrible disease. I found this thread about 4 months into my sobriety but wish I'd found it on Day 1. Hugs!!

Neoo- drinking dreams suck. I see my dreams as different parts of my brain trying the hell to make sense of stuff, rewiring, reruns- to find a balance by talking to each other- in secret.
The only problem is- through dreaming, I overhear some of their talking and come to all sorts of conclusions about it.
The one conclusion I do draw- is drinking is crap and I cannot drink again and continue to live..
