So happy to be here. Listened to my co-worker tell me about his plans to go to a combination brewery AND distillery tour--and I just smiled and nodded. No judgment, I was happy to hear it. I was so happy to hear about what I won't be doing! I will be waking up clear, feeling good--- not throwing up, acting like a fool and wasting money. Love my sober life.

Checking in for 24 hours. Will be relaxing and reading today. A gift from sobriety is the ability to concentrate again ! I have a big pile of books to get through !
Congrats to the milestoners ! The fog gradually lifts each day we stay sober !
Kris, what is "oatmeal with blues" ? Blueberries, R&B or sad oatmeal ?

Tomorrow night is our annual auction fundraiser. The principal has been on my back about not attending school functions. I will go.
It is off campus and adults only. Why? Because they drink! I have no desire to hang out with drunken parents. I will go for one hour. I will not drink.

I've been on a reading frenzy lately, too.Kaurapuuro on puuro, jota nautitaan yleensä aamiaiseksi. Sitä syödään etenkin Pohjoismaissa, Baltiassa, Venäjällä, Skotlannissa ja Irlannissa. Puuro on mielletty ainakin Venäjällä alkuperältään skotlantilaiseksi.[1]
Puuro keitetään kaurahiutaleista joko maitoon tai veteen. Puuron lisukkeena voidaan tarjota maitoa, marjoja, voisilmä, sokeria, juustoa, Irlannissa perinteisesti myös siirappia, tai Skotlannissa jopa viskiälähde?.
Puurosta tulee maittavinta kun se haudutetaan hitaasti miedolla lämmöllä. Jos puuroa hämmennetään voimakkaasti keittämisen aikana, sen tärkkelykset muodostavat pitkiä ketjuja (sama ilmiö kuin taikinan sitko) ja puurosta tulee venyvää liisteriä. Myös puuron nesteen lämpötilalla on merkitystä. Mikäli hiutaleet lisätään kiehuvaan nesteeseen, ne jäävät irtonaisemmiksi. Kylmään nesteeseen lisättynä ne liisteröityvät enemmän.
Kaurapuuro on tunnettu terveysvaikutuksistaan, sillä sen perusraaka-aineessa kaurassa on runsaasti hyvälaatuista rasvaa ja kuituja. Kaurapuurolla on myös kolesterolia alentava vaikutus kauran sisältämän beetaglukaanin takia. Yhdessä kaurapuuroannoksessa on noin kolmasosa suositellusta beetaglukaanitarpeesta.
