One Year and Under Club Part 58
Thanks everybody for the good words
Dee, no, I wouldn't recommend that album at all.
A little better than their previous album but all-in-all this is a band on the decline.
There is still a little guitar lead rock here and there but mostly its just bland.
Monday ahead with only one option : back to work.
It's a bit less magic than Saturday night.
Funny how the AV is super quiet this morning lol
Have a good week, we can make it

Thanks everyone for helping me through the holiday weekend. I'm getting a little nervous about my two days off coming up end of June. I plan to go out of town by myself and I need to stick close to SR....maybe I'll start a "Purplrks mini-vacay" thread before I go! LOL
Glad everyone made it through the weekend. I learned some things while on my first camping trip in our new RV. It seems that I will never escape the partying atmosphere, but I am learning to be comfortable partying with a soda or tea and it feels wonderful to be the first one up in the beautiful quiet of the morning while everyone else is sleeping it off.
My poor dog Lulu seems to be having a bit of difficulty adjusting to camping. Hopefully she will come around.

Purplrks- a mini vacay thread sounds like a great idea! I am glad you made it through the holiday weekend. They can be hard at first!
Barb- I am glad you are learning to be comfortable having soda and tea even when everyone else is drinking. That is great you were able to enjoy you the mornings. good way to look at it. I bet you are not puffy too!! haha.

Hi folks.
I'm out of town on a bus trip with a group of fellow retirees. This is a big party trip with lots of drinking on the bus and such. We stopped at a winery yesterday and i got a whiff of white wine (my favourite) as someone was getting a taster. Up until that point I had been completely fine but that whiff smelled SO GOOD! I immediately said I'm going to wait outside. I realized i may have been pushing it by going inside. It was a beautiful day and I immediately felt better.
Today there were more wine tours which I passed on, instead doing a walking tour. Tonight we had a really nice dinner at a fancy restaurant and I found another great reason for not drinking - I was walking around in high heels without wobbling and staggering around! LOL Now everyone that is part of the party crowd have gone to the casino. They have got a good head start drinking all day so I know there won't likely be any good conversation so i am happily back in my room watching tv and reading. I don't feel like I am missing out on anything at all.
Have a good night everyone.

Good job Helen realizing that things "didn't feel right" at the winery. I think we get better at recognizing what could potentially be a triggering scene for us as we go along. We are better able to take action to protect our sobriety instead of just trying to white knuckle a situation. I bet you feel much better this morning than most of the rest of your group. Have fun!

Barbs- gotta agree about early mornings. I was on a pond in Maine in a kayak fishing at the break of dawn the other day. It was beautiful and would have never happened if I was still drinking.
Helen-Good job, you are an inspiration to me. I am taking my wife to Napa Valley in October and need to do exactly what you did! Hopefully my "sober muscles" will be big like the Incredible Hulk by then!

There is something magical about being out in nature at the break of dawn. I think we never feel more connected with nature than we do then, and the fact that we share it with so few people makes it more special. It's been getting chilly at night down here recently. I am guessing it's pleasantly crisp in Maine, RetiredGuy. Enjoy your fishing adventures!
Have a good day all!
