Checking in for 24 hours. Spent most of the day deep in spreadsheets. Oooh, that is a tough sanity test. But I am grateful that my world can be absorbed by such a small matter. Just flick off the switch and its gone

Good evening,
Just kicking off Day 26 on a crazy windy evening in Texas. 24 more hours please!
I feel hopeful. Drained, but something is different. I feel the positive changes adding up, finally. My head has cleared enough to take some action and make some decisions this week. It is beginning! Just a start, I know, but sooo much better than it was.
It is starting to feel like my life, not some ill-fitting thing that was thrown at me that I have to endure. I was suffocating when I was drinking; I really didn't feel like I could change anything. No way to live. Now, it's different, and I am making inquiries about new places to work, and have begun to study for a certification exam. No quick-fix relief, true freedom! It will take some time but I don't mind so much.
Looking forward to the weekend and some time with friends and family... Love a short week!
