Dharma, sending hugs across the ether. I'm glad you have had this sober time with your grandma.

FBL congrats my friend

Mags, I too was up at the same stupid o'clock, being that bit further north, it gets light even earlier here. Man I hate losing an hour in bed in March. Doesn't help I have a long lie to look forward to in October - it's far too far in the future!

Well, it was 25 years ago today that I started my current job. I had a college professor that told me to find something I love to do and I'd never work another day in my life. He was right

Have a Thunderous Thursday, overs!

FBL, congrats on the sobriety milestone. I wish that I could say that I found a job that I love doing enough to stay with it 25 years. Unfortunately, I have found working in an office very challenging, and each iteration, management just seems to get worse. Sobriety is helping me to not internalize office problems, but I still think to myself "this really just isn't worth it." Of course, bills to pay and all...

Even sober, I think at some point I am likely to just walk away from this life and move to a lower cost area of living that isn't as crowded. At least retirement is no longer insanely far away.

GHD, my work experience sounds somewhat like yours. I love retirement! I do find it inspiring to see people who have found work that they love.

I have come to see that a good portion of my work problems were generated by me but there's some of the other, too.

FBL, way to go!

Mags, I agree on the time change stuff. I would be happier if we didn't have those seismic shifts in our daily routine twice a year.

Have a terrific Thursday, Overs

Thanks, GHD. Sorry that you have such a stressful job. I realize how lucky I am to make a living at something that I love to do. I felt the same way about my previous radio career. The last "real" job I had was when I worked at a 7-11 during my college years, but even that one wasn't too bad. I can't imagine myself ever retiring, but that's just the way I'm wired.

Congrats on 25 years on the job FBL!

I totally agree on the time change dismay. I don't see the point of disrupting our lives twice a year for no reason. Just one of those traditions that no one wants to confront for its silliness.

Have a great day all!

FBL, you're an inspiration.
GHD, I get it. Working an the office really really sucks sometimes. I'm thinking seriously about what my next career move is going to be.
Have a Thunderous Thursday everyone. It's almost over for most of you so Happy Friday too!

Oh man, more bad news on the job front today. I might be put in charge of something really important. Not quite "curing cancer" impact, but serious enough that I would need to play my A-game for sure. And yes, it would be very stressful to be responsible for the outcome.

Treerat - best thoughts for you and your wife

GHD - you can do it!

Everyone here at the Overs - sorry, been MIA a bit of late - been quite busy at work and so just not had time to be here But have been thinking of you all.

Last week a friend in AA turned 38 years sober!! That's something else, for sure. My housemate said he would be amazed if he lives long enough to reach 38 years but you never know. At least with sobriety there is a chance
