Hey Jimmy, I saw you over at the March Madness. It's so great you're back. You can do this, there's no doubt in my mind.

Hey Jimmy! Glad to see you back!

So...not sure if it would have made national news or not, and most of you folks abroad wouldn't have heard, of course, but a major freeway in Atlanta (85) collapsed at a pretty critical junction/part of town when a fire started underneath it. Cliff was headed to that dinner I mentioned and saw it start, and was able to get off the main rd affected - thank God. Both north and south will be closed indefinitely on the hwy, and all surrounding surface roads- which connect directly to where I live, nearby- are going to have to handle the traffic. This is going to be a HUGE problem in the already often-horrible ATL traffic.

My first thought was - how am I going to get to meetings? My big clubhouse is off the sealed off part of the major road involved. My MWF group is in a different part of town. Only after that did I think about an impact on getting to work or anywhere else

Take care everyone-
A

Jimmy!! Good to hear from you

August. Panick attacks? Are you stressed? If that continues I would see the Dr soon.

Going home. Newark is a dirty place. Ha! No offense

Checking in! Hey Jimmy! Aug - definitely sounds like a panic attack. Best way to handle them is to recognize them starting and breath/relax/refocus. Why are you so stressed? Maybe take some things off your plate? K gotta get zzzzzs.

Newark is called the armpit of the country for a reason.....

I am going to see the dr next week if the breathing/anx episodes continue. Not sure about taking things off my plate exactly, but some reframing and other communication effort with Cliff on how we deal with what, and how other stuff doesn't involve me....we will spend tomorrow night together then have a couple of days early in the week - I have needed (and gotten) some reassurance that we are on the same page, moving forward.

Just home from work- time for bed.

Hope all are feeling better and had a great day-
A

Penny? Where are you Penny? FYI I pick up every penny that I see and teach my little one to do the same. I might have enough now to buy a couple Starbucks coffees.

Hi guys! Very sweet Badgerino, probably takes years to save for a Starbux these days penny by penny? Poor Newarkians, I bet there are some cute parts there. I never saw them tho Spent about 8 weeks over the years in Parsippany for work and didn't mind that area.

Aug, yes sounds like anxiety. Body reacting before the mind does. Happens to me too, a little different, I feel faint first then the breathing and panic. Depending on where I am I do different things to try and manage it. First thought is I need to find fresh cool air asap. Not always possible. Meditating has really helped me prophylactically.
Bummer about the traffic sitch! Man, no idea when it will be resolved??

We had a temporary traffic deal here. We had a suicidal man threatening to jump on a freeway overpass for almost 24 hours. Shut down 2 main freeways and within the first hour people were going CRAZY complaining how this man affected the commute and would he jump already. Made me very very sad. No compassion. He finally jumped but was alive so was taken into custody or a hospital.

OT I've been meaning to ask what type of science are you majoring in? I was a science major too. Loved it so much. Now I have to think about what the formula for water is

OOTT, when you taking off for your vacay? Traveling without planning the next drink is so freeing isn't it?

Hey Jimmy! Yes, it does get better!!!, so much! Hang in there. I'm behind most of the other Febradoodles, hada bad relapse in July but finally feel my brain is healing. Don't be a stranger. Hope that stranger Mel is ok.

Back to napping, if anyone gets this nasty crud don't delay going to the Dr. I did because I thought it was a virus and antibiotics are so overused. I finally went and got 2 shots in my hiney and feel a bit better. Yeah Dr. said no cats in bedroom till well. HAH!! No deal! My 19 year old can do what he wants! He's getting so demanding, it's cute. 8 treats upon screechy yowl, 7 will NOT do.

How u be Mr. Dee? Hola Lee and PHRD!

Hey everybody, I lost my phone so I won't be able to text with the usual people. I'm in annaheim right now. I hope to get a replacement ASAP. Other than that, everything is great.
Getting some good compliments on my weight loss from TSA.

One word: allergies. Let's hope my Zyrtec/advil/Emergen-C (surprisingly tasty!) and hydration program is effective.

Glad you are better OT.

April! Moving things forward- glad Mar is over. House will be on the market within 2 wks- for his neighborhood, price level and "competition" (only one similar house is on the market now) it is reasonable to expect a sale in around 30 days. Things are coming together....

Hope everyone has a pleasant and sneezy free day!

Penny - Not at university yet. Didn't do so well in school so currently taking classes in biology, psychology, statistics and maths. Studying psychology for my undergraduate and thinking about specialising in neuroscience, that stage is a long way off yet though.

Thanks August!

Had a day indoors with my revision notes today, taking full advantage of having this extension. Was a shame because the weather was so nice, but had to be done. Had no idea Piaget was so obsessed with molluscs, learn something new everyday.

OLD T- do you have a routine for your study? Like sobriety- a plan helps.
A workspace, light, fresh air- distractions etc? A goal for each session?
Stuff like that.

Happy sober monday.
Work problems .. . . nothing stops just because you're on vay cay. It's good but it's bad to be tethered with text and email.

PhoenixJ - I've got a good system at the moment where I set myself goals that I NEED to achieve each day. Have a tendency to get bored when I restrict myself to just knowledge I need to know to pass an exam, so I once those goals are achieved I can do further reading. All helps with my understanding and keeps me interested. Wasn't getting a lot done when I was studying purely for exams and assignments.

Officially have the grades to get into my insurance university choice, still battling for my first choice but it's comforting to know I'll be going to a good research uni whatever happens!
