Day 108
Well done cute crossing 90 !

Woke up today happy to be hangover free. Drinking coffee, mentally getting ready for my exercise. My sleep was not bad and I feel there is decent chance I have a good day.

All these things were impossible until very recently. Yet I now seem to now take all this for granted, like it isn't enough. The feeling of complacency has become my main challenge.

Spring is slowly making it's way to where I live. Later than many places.

Have a happy, healthy, sober day classmates.

Good morning all...Back to work/routine...YAY!!! I am such a creature of habit...really don't cope well when my days are not structured or get derailed. DLB...I hear ya!!... not sure if it's complacency for me though....just more of a flatness to each day...still need to find something that provides more stimulation in order to change things up. Day 85...five more sleeps until 90!!!

Have a great day peeps!...J9

Congrats to you CAGY!!! 90 days is huge. Glad you got to celebrate it on Easter!

Day 106 here.

Well, we made it through the holiday weekend. I actually worked much of the time, but for some reason it was still a bit difficult. Cravings were pretty strong. But, made it through!

I am actually in class right now while my students are rehearsing lol, so I will be quick today. Doing well, plugging along. Happy to be healthy and hangover free.

Best of days to you fellow Januarians!

Day 109.
Just a quick check-in for me also. It sounds like a few of us had a tough Easter long-weekend as far as our AV's. I hope other classmates who check-in less made it through OK.

J9, 5 days left. Excited for you to hit the big milestone also.
NACN, you sound similar to me as far as plugging away, grateful to feel better day to day.

The big void of time that used to be filled by my being drunk or hungover is slowly being used by other, more constructive, things. Like sleep, exercise, work, family etc. It seems flat sometimes, transitioning into this new life. I suppose it takes patience like the rest of this journey has. One day at a time still.

Have a great day classmates. We have come so far. One more day.

as one who checks in less often, easter was not an issue for me.

day 84 for me. things are starting to level out. i am starting to feel consistently better physically and mentally i just find myself grateful more often than not. i haven't really had anything much in the way of urges or cravings, the not drinking part hasn't been hard. the hard part has been letting my body heal, and dealing with the longer term toll drinking has taken on me. i haven't been newly sober this long since 2006, and slapping on another decade of aging i am certainly not bouncing back like i did in my 20s. but like i said i think things are leveling out that way. i seem to overall feel healthy with more energy on a daily basis.

it also helps that spring is finally springing here. i've been taking my dog on a nightly walk around 10 or so, helps wind down the day and the spring smells in the air are nice.

work is also going well all things considered. not too much and not too little. funny thing though.... i am self employed so schedule and pay is always different. right now i am waiting on a rather substantial payment from one customer, it is about 2 weeks late right now. in my drinking days i would have been going nuts, but now i've been able to float along just fine with very little money and the late cheque hasn't really stressed me out like it would have in the past.

i seem to be going through the days not worrying about all the stuff i have little or no control over. i do what i can to make the best of things and just take each day for what it is.

good job to everyone here on all the milestones and for just sticking around. there are quite a few of us still here at 3ish months or so, that's nothing to be scoffed at. keep at it, one day at a time.

Day 110.
First of all .. Well Done hitting 90, MrM !! Great job hitting 3 months
JV. Great to read your post and so glad you are doing well. I completely relate ... other than the fact I still get my AV occasionally and depressed/flat phases as I get used to this new life.
The length of time my body is now taking to heal from 7 day week boozing is surprising. I too feel the improvement but expected to easily get back to how it was last time I tried something like this. That was over a decade ago for me also. I deal with stress better now and try to keep my reason. I hope

No exercise today as my sleep was abysmal.
Have a healthy, happy and sober day fellow Januarians.

MMT....You totally ROCK!!!.... I am so happy for you, Congratulations on 90!!!... Sunday is 90 days for me! (not that I'm counting or anything)...JV, thank you for your post. I too am finding myself more accepting of situations and am able to step back and watch them unfold which is something that I could never do while drinking. Have an awesome day folks!

Day 111.
Good morning Januarians. Not a huge amount to write about today but checking in anyway.

My self-imposed routine of posting daily, I feel, helps me maintain sobriety. And being accountable to you all, to show up each day, also. Crazy as it is, keeping to this odd routine has helped me so far.

Have a healthy, happy and sober day classmates.

WTG Mr. M!! Three months is huge! Congrats!

Not much to report here either. I like your habit of checking in DLB, it makes total sense to me to have the accountability here.

Going into tech rehearsals this weekend, so it will be a busy one. I have been happy keeping busy, but one thing that sometimes gets me is coming home late, and really wanting that drink to unwind. I used to love my time while everyone else was in bed, but of course because of that it was also much easier to drink a lot. I have replaced with tea and make myself just go up to bed, but I still get that pang.

Wishing everyone a happy sober weekend

Day 111 checking in.

Just got back from a birthday dinner. It was nice and although others were drinking, I didn't feel the need to at all. That being said, I still opted out of the pub after party. I already have another party to go to tomorrow night....not going to push my luck too much. Now I'm going to try and get some work done. Friday nights have certainly changed No complaints though!
Hope you're all having a great weekend

Day 112.
Hi all
Ina, you are doing so well. I hope to be at the point when I can be around people, in a pub or party, who are drinking. One thing I have not been good at is socialising in environments, around friends, who are getting drunk. It is me just learning to trust myself, maybe. Either way, you are doing so well. I WILL get there

J9. I think I am in a similar pattern as you, without the tech rehearsals on a stage (which would petrify me by the way) but as far as being in a high-pressure, creative job . After which I would like nothing more than to come home afterwards, put the TV on and have a drink. For me, unfortunately, that one, simple, glass of wine becomes 2 bottles. And then I would be leaving work early the next day to do the same, and getting in late the next day, hungover, or calling in sick because of anxiety attacks or depression etc etc. There is no "one glass of wine" for me anymore. Sadly. Just ruin.

I am also tea after work. Green, white or black. Crappy TV like "the Voice" and early to bed. My mornings are heaven as I feel real achievement in what we are doing. I am proud of us all as this is so f*king hard. If it was just me doing this sobriety thing I feel I might have messed up by now. Being part of an anonymous group, with similar struggles , has been a blessing.

Have an awesome, healthy and happy weekend my wonderful Januarians. I feel very lucky to be in your company.

92. Getting closer to the century... Definitely going to stop counting then as the obsession with the time just passing feels like it might be a trap...

Thanks for all your congrats on reaching the 90. I did have a miniscule celebration. I went to the store and was going to buy a cupcake or something, but ended up buying sushi for the kids instead. It's their absolute favorite, so it was still a treat for me to see their faces when I put it out for them and to hear them scream SUSHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!

Anyway, a wet weekend promised here. I'm hoping to build some raised beds to try to get some asparagus beds started this year.

Day 113.
A really quick checkin from me. It is a super lovely Sunday morning where I live. Trying to decide if I go back to bed or walk out for a coffee with bed hair. .. I may actually do both

Have a happy, sober and healthy spring day classmates. One more day

Day 90!!!!!!

Good morning fellow sober-Januarians!!

Well I made it!!...Sitting here in my robe basking in the sun and all things 90:

1. 90 clear headed guilt-free blissful mornings!
2. 90 days wine-free = $1,800 in savings to be used on sober treats!
3. 90 days of being present for my kids and really getting to know their wonderful personalities!
4. 90 days being able to get in the car and safely drive anywhere!
5. 90 days of conviction - having the strength to make it through each day!
6. 90 days of emotional re-awakening and being able to feel the difficult ones and watch them pass by.
7. 90 days of knowledge from the endless research to try and understand this terrible addiction.
8. 90 days of friendship - getting to know you folks!...I couldn't have done it without your kindness and support!
9. 90 days of pride - Not to blow my own horn but this has been the single most difficult thing that I have ever done in my life and I am very proud of myself!!

Cheers to all of us and here's to 90 more!!!!
