Thanks, Dee!

I'm so impressed that we're on Part 5! :)

courage2 03-15-2017 10:01 PM

^^^Me too. Amazed would be the word. I was going to ask someone to suggest a different title going forward, but I forgot to. Anyway, there's never anything wrong with not drinking or drugging today. Thanks for refreshing us, Dee!

Glee and Deliza -- congratulations on your respective days, even if you didn't love them. You're one day further away from the train wreck of active alcoholism and addiction -- not too shabby!

Let's all pat each other on the back, 'k?

:)

Dee74 03-15-2017 10:03 PM

If you want to change the title it's easily done :)

I vote for Sober, Clean and Obscene.
Or, Sober Snarky Malarkey.
Insanity Survivors. lol
Sober Harm reductors. lol
I should go back to bed.
I think we're all sober warriors anyways.
I'm going to the person I hate going to today. maaaaybe.
Also cleaning and generally being productive.
I may go back to bed first.

Delizadee 03-16-2017 07:00 AM

Good job badge and Tom!
it'll be 3 months for me on April fool's. :D

courage2 03-16-2017 07:47 AM

These are the suggestions on the table:
  1. Sober, Clean and Obscene (will SR allow that?)
  2. Sober Snarky Malarkey
  3. Insanity Survivors
  4. Sober Harm Reductors
  5. Sober Warriors -- not sure if that was a suggestion?

Taking more suggestions until noon 3/17 East Coast DST. Then 24 hours to vote!

I used to be on the Board of Directors of Self-Loathing, Inc. but I resigned.

Sober forward!

Gilmer 03-16-2017 08:14 AM

I like Insanity Survivors!

Delizadee 03-16-2017 09:38 AM

:lmao

I just survived cleaning a long left litter box and my little jack russell has been using my basement as a toilet too. :headbange
I upchucked in my mouth. DO NOT buy cheap ammonia-dust producing cat litter.

Lawyer called this morning... the saga drags on.

Insanity survivor indeed.

SoberLeigh 03-16-2017 09:43 AM

Insanity Survivors!!!!!!

SoberLeigh 03-16-2017 09:44 AM

Hope your day gets better, Delizadee!

SoberLeigh 03-16-2017 09:44 AM

There is no way will I drink today!

LostManhattan 03-16-2017 10:44 AM

Delizadee's Sober Snarky Marlarkey is pretty darn good. Although I could entertain, The Snark Bunny Diaries.

IWLSAST 03-16-2017 11:23 AM

Congrats on the four, Badge.

Suggestions:
-Back From The Brink
-Joy in Sobriety

To my second suggestion. I realize that there is a feeling of despair, loss of a good friend, struggles with AV, life's ups and downs that are posted on these threads.

For me now - I feel little to none of those things. I do not miss alcohol in any way, shape or form. In fact, I do not regret what has happened to my life from alcohol either. All of those active addiction trials and tribulations have led me to a rather peaceful life in recovery.

So, yes...I feel a joy - a net positive in recovery. Nothing lost or missed from those crazy days. When my stinkin-thinkin from the past activates, I know I have the tools to restart my thoughts.

EXAMPLE: I was dead tired on Monday following a 6-day visit from a good friend. We were on the go for days on end. It was nice, but, after driving him to the airport at 4:30am on Monday I just was not mentally ready to begin my week.

I struggled at work for like a hour and a half - then just gave up and took some much-needed duvet time and did nothing for hours.

In the past (active addiction) I would have felt like I was being a lazy bum - thought about all the things that weren't getting accomplished. It would have been a stressful rest - at best.

Not Monday...I simply enjoyed being a lazy bum. I didn't feel I earned it either - it simply was...I lived it present tense.

When workout time came I needed to push myself a little to get out the door, but, it worked and after the gym, I was then off to my AA home group to make that crappy coffee that everyone thanks me for making.

Had a dinner date last night. It was our second time together. No, not the police woman...that was a one and done...no vibes. I'm online, so it was simply back to the drawing board. Anyway, it went quite well and we are going to hang out this weekend. She had a glass of wine...strangely, again, I never saw her even drink it.

Soooo cold in Florida today. Was in the high 30's this morning with a projected high of only 56.

Hey, enjoy the day, gang.

Carlos

Gilmer 03-16-2017 02:06 PM

I'm glad it was a nice time, Carlos.

I could entertain "The Snarkbunny Diaries," too!

Dee74 03-16-2017 02:25 PM

Sober, Clean and Obscene would be false advertising seeing as we can't be obscene here :eek5:

I like all the others tho
