Cheers for Venuscat Part Two
PhoenixJ
I have thought over this groundhog idea and intend to get in touch with Punxsutawney Phil over in Pennsylvania to see whether he might have some grandchild available who would consider moving to Ohio to be a "mate" for Willow, the new Venus, using that "mates" term in the Aussie sense and not in the Yank sense (I also see that, on SR, the word "love" seems to have a similar specialized meaning). So Phil would be a suitable "mate" and "love" the new cat and, if one stands between the sun and Phil, he will not see his shadow and we won't have to go through all this March madness in the weather. I hope that granddad Phil hasn't gone back into his hole for another six weeks snooze.

Suze, I am so excited for you and Goat. Its not easy, blending two lives, but worth the work.
If you don't mind, I will suggest a lovely little plant, Portulaca, aka Moss Rose, an annual which is just lovely and sweet, and great for a sunny , rocky spot. Low growing and just beautiful to behold on a summer morning. <3

This is a must, and I will be calling you to find out where to get it.
And to finally organise to see you....I need to PM....I have lost some of my numbers.
So much love, and thank you sweetheart. ♥
Hi Suze! The plants look happy on the shelf over the frig. but they may want to get a little sun eventually. Of course I have an ulterior motive in mind (hidden agenda). This shelf may be just the place where Willow will enjoy patrolling the perimeter and rounding up all the usual suspects. You may wish to consider building a small ladder (cat ladder!) from the frig. up to this shelf so that Willow can lurk up there and supervise all that goes on below. Because, the CAT always knows, but never tells....Good luck. You are a fine interior decorator. When we lived in Brooklyn Heights our first cat (also black) called "The Monster of Depravity" patrolled the back yard jungle and terrified the cat gangs in the neighborhood who had thought they were so tough. They would sit on the back fence and complain bitterly. Early one morning I sneaked out and doused one with a pail of cold water. Catastrophe! But it worked. The Monster of Depravity cheered me on. I felt like Marlon Brando and the Monster was my consigliere! (or I his).

P.S. It was the Monster who, in another adventure, Mission Impossible, kidnapped an entire rib roast and dragged it under the bed for further examination. He got a warning and had to report daily to his parole officer for a week.

OK, my hands are so sore from opening boxes that I need to take a break.
Perfect time to show you some photos. :-) ♥
This is one part of our kitchen:
I ordered that umbrella tree online (yes, really ), so it's a little squashed still.
This is the corner of the loungeroom:
Our gorgeous loungeroom....well, part of it.
And a close up of the pretty plant on the table....normally I know all of the plant names, but my brain is in too many places right now:

Thanks, Suze for the photos. Only one is missing. That is the one where you and Nick sit on the couch and take a selfie. This can be shared either by the usual SR posts, visitor messages, private messages, Email or U.S Mail. I think there is Stage Coach or Pony Express mail service between the wilds of Ohio and the ghostly, witch haunted villages of Massachusetts. If I receive a photo I shall keep it confidential, except that I'll show it to the dog.
Fondly
Bill

Love the textural mix of leather, wood, shag, fabric, too.
Ever considered a career in interior design?

And surprising myself....wait until you see the rest of the kitchen, and the bedroom....doing the office next....already started actually.
