Nick is currently putting together our fantastic swing.
Some more photos ~
More plants in the kitchen:
(And yes, that is a photo of baby Venus on the fridge :-)).
Including (gerbera) planty no 2: Nick valiantly kept the first one alive all of these months....we bought it last October.
It may not have flowers at the moment, but I have hope that it will again one day.
(It's currently up on the shelf to the right of the succulents in the little terra cotta pots).

I keep missing you somehow....but I have been all over the place.
I have an appointment with my course counsellor in the morning, and then I need to get started on my writing work.
We are actually pretty well set up here now....go us.
I would love that my darling.....and I will try and call you again tomorrow.

Good luck with your appointment.
We will catch up at some point
Nite-nite.
So there is an outdoors after all. And I assume a "jungle" that goes with it.Now the problem becomes should Willow be brought up as an indoor cat to keep her from running away and getting lost. A very good friend of ours has two cats who are very happy indeed as indoor cats. It would not occur to them to go outside. On the other hand, when we lived in Brooklyn Heights we let the Monster run free in the back yard and he cased the neighborhood and never got lost. We would sit outside in the summer and across the way there was another apartment building with a a man sitting in the window. He wore nothing on, at least above his waist so considering that the rest of him was concealed beneath the window sill, he became known as "the naked man". Our flat was in the basement of a house which was said to have been owned by the famous clergyman, Henry Ward Beecher, who was notorious as a result of a scandalous affair he is alleged to have had with a lady parishioner. We often wondered whether the affair took place in what became our parlor, which had no windows. Like you we had a "very small TV". Adjoining the parlor was a small kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom. The Monster, as I have said, dragged a rib roast off the table and took it into the bedroom to his cave like place under the bed. Guard yourself carefully that Willow does not have this as a hidden agenda!
Geezer (oh the memories!)

P.S. I like the brick too. Looks suitably old. A fine jungle for your cat if you decide to let her roam outside. In that event I would think that a cat could be trained from early kitten age to come for its daily or twice daily feeding by clicking one of those snappers which sound like a cricket, which it is said that those whom we parachuted into Normandy on D Day could identify themselves with. See the movie "The Longest Day". So if you get the kitten to associate the clicking with the food it might come rapidly if, for example, it is in a neighbor's yard. Another idea, more modern, is to fit the kitten out with a G.P.S. Actually there are dog collars which are said to do something like that. Trouble is you can locate the pet but how do you persuade it to return? Do what the pols and lobbyists do. Try bribery. Boswell my dog welcomes bribes.
Geezer
I assume that pet training ideas do not consist in "medical advice", prohibited by the SR rules or that there is an exemption for animals, birds, insects and reptiles (cf. Crocodile Dundee). This may suggest that an Aborigine "Bull Roarer" might be used to call Willow.

After a really tough morning, we decided to cheer ourselves up and get going on the garden outside. It is already looking gorgeous....Nick's smile when he saw what I had done made it all the more special. Oh, how I love gardening, and gardens, and did I mention that we have bought a few more plants for inside as well?
I know: I am incorrigible.
As Bill has mentioned, there is going to be a cat in our lives....soon...lots to do and get used to first. And yes, her name is going to be Willow. And boy is she going to love it here.
♥
PS...the tough stuff is around the course I came here to study....there were some mistakes made on the part of the international student co-ordinator who organised my paperwork....we thought it had all gone very wrong for a few hours today. It was rather scary for both of us. And VERY stressful....hopefully we are working it out. I think it will be OK.

Hey Suze: When you say, "And 'boy' is she going to love it here. " and say "boy" and then a "she" could this be a sign that "she" might be veering towards a transexual mode, increasingly popular in the U.S. and elsewhere? A sort of feline Michael Jackson? Will she ultimately change from black to white, maybe become rich, like "him" ? Anyway I'm all for awesomely following what happens to be the current rage. A cat that's awesomely, like...."rocks"!
Sorry to hear about the paperwork confusion. After all the trees are cut down they will run out of paper.
