More like "Steel Magnolias" PJ. Dolly Parton's character declared in that movie that sweet iced tea was the "House Wine Of The South"

Hi everyone!

Checking in a little late today. This morning I took my daughter and her friend to gymnastics class and then they wanted to go to a McDonald's play place, yuck. We'll probably all be sick next week lol.

Not much else planned for the day. It's freezing here. My daughter is going to my Mom's tonight for a sleepover so it's just going to be me, hubby and 2 yo.

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday!

Hello friends. Stopping off for lunch after taking kitty to the vet. She's on the schedule to get spayed next Friday. Drop off is at 6:45 am. Yikes. Looks like I will head to work extra early that day. There was a couple at the vet with their elderly dog trying to get an emergency appointment to have their dog put down. Doc couldn't see them be of another emergency surgery. They left really upset. Had I realized what was going on in time I would have given them my appointment. But I didn't realize until they were headed out the door. It's a one doc vet clinic, so it seems like there wasn't much that doc could do. I guess there was miscommunication between the owners and staff about the whole thing. I felt really bad for them. Poor dog couldn't stand on its hind legs.

CH- hope the old couple's dog is not in any distress.

B- thankyou. Taken from real life- where I saw a homeless guy sleeping on the steps of the Supreme Court of Justice building here.

I am devastated. Had plans to head up to Sedona today with good friends. Had put our pup in the kennel overnight so we could get an early start. Got a call from the kennel this morning as we were making breakfast. Hana did not make it through the night.

She was a little older, but not that old. We had her at the park yesterday playing frisbee. Everything seemed fine. I've had a number of dogs over the years. Hana was a cut above. We got her from the Lab Rescue people. They have a saying, "Who rescued who". This was never more true than in our case.

Sorry to lay this all on you, but you guys are my best support group.

Hana was a phenomenal dog - very athletic. At nearly 12 years old, she was still almost always the fastest dog at the park. She was kind of proud of that, too. Often after out-running the other dogs, she would hold her head high and kind of jog around. She had great leaping ability, which always made for some incredible frisbee catches. Her favorite thing, though, was what we would call "face time". If you lowered your head to her level, she would come over and put her forehead against yours and just "talk" to you. She seemed to love this more than anything.

Clearly, I am missing her. Posting here helps. Thanks.

Took a much needed nap ~ I have two alarms set for the time change tonight, to make sure I get up for work in the morning.

Work was ok for the most part....funny how a passive aggressive person can't let me get through the shift without saying something to **** me off....I tried laughing it off, could've turned it into a trigger but didn't. Hopefully I won't see much of her tomorrow.

Watching some programs on The Weather Channel about tornados...there was one combined with a blizzard in Chicago & I thought of you, CH, and all of our northern friends....I'm such a wimp....I could never live up there in that brutal weather! Sheesh!!

MITA, I'm so very sorry. She was a beautiful dog! The picture shows kind eyes and a deep soul.

It must have been a complete shock to find out that way.

Sending prayers your way. Dogs are family.

MITA - I'm so sorry for your sudden loss. She was a beauty, and sounds like a wonderful companion. She had a great life with you. That's the best any dog could wish for...frisbees in the park the day before sounds like she lived to her fullest until the end. Keeping you in my heart.
