50 is the new 30! :)

Saskia 03-09-2017 03:54 AM

Thanks, Dee.

I'm so happy that I ended up with this terrific group!

Duff, even though the memories of going through my divorce are unpleasant, they have lost the ability to pierce my serenity. There were times I don't know how I got through it all but I did -- and you will too

PJ, how are you doing???

PhoenixJ 03-09-2017 04:23 AM

I am okay thank you Sassy.

Part 50 WOW!!!!!

Today is my 4 year anniversary, next week will be one year tobacco free!
I guess March is my month to quit where it actually sticks, so, I'm going to give it a shot to give up soda.

Work has a health incentive program, if you pass 3 of the five tests they give you $400.00 into your health savings account. The testing was last month, I failed all 5 tests, most by less that 5% of the acceptable numbers. Because I failed I have to do 5 telephone counseling sessions and then I will get $250 added to my HSA.

All the test results said I should pass if I lose some weight. The test day I weighed in at 251 lbs, I've been eating better but have only lost 5 pounds in almost 2 months. I guess dropping soda will be a big help, my goal is to see under 210.

The funny part is the BMI portion says someone my height should weigh between 146 and 186 lbs. NOT gonna happen, nor would I want to be that thin.

Work has been really confusing. last month they said absolutely no overtime, I'm averaging 16 hours OT a week since the ban.

This week they changed us to 10 hour shifts with weekends off. Yesterday they said plan on working Saturday! They cant get their story straight.

In honor of my 4 years sobriety, I will be doing something I did when I first stopped. Remodeling, I will be tiling my kitchen backsplash and replacing the linoleum flooring in my bathroom with ceramic. Tile is ordered, should be here in a week or two.

Critters are doing well, except, when I let them out, they stand at the door, when I let them in, they chase each other like crazy!

Hope you are all doing well!

Hi, Budd! Congratulations on your four years!

Sounds like you're staying busy with your DIY work.

As for the unpredictable overtime, you can cry your way to the bank! :)

I'm glad the animals are keeping you amused--and staying put! Better they should stand stupidly on your doorstep than breaking through fences!

You'll definitely lose weight by giving up soda.

PhoenixJ 03-09-2017 01:35 PM

Congrats Budd

Ken, big congrats and  !

Ken I was thinking it was around the time you and Marcher13 were celebrating. So proud to have shared this journey with you. I remember you doing up your place in Florida Keys, we teased you about chandeliers and diamond encrusted toilet seats!! :lmao:
All I drink these days is black coffee in the morning and onto fizzy water from then on. I also rarely eat bread these days. I think that has helped enormously in my weight loss and weight maintenance, along with regular exercise. ( which I imagine you get plenty of at work! )

I am missing Miss Molly badly. She and I would run 3-4 mornings a week, getting up is not the same without her excited-to-see-me grin and wag. I know that mum and dad are benefiting from spending time with her though and it made lots of sense to leave her with them until I come back from my next trip to Spain next month

Congrats Ken :)

CONGRATULATIONS KEN :dance1a:

4 years is amazing!!!

I hope Marcher is celebrating too - I miss her.

Good luck with the remodel - yes I remember the last one - it was fun to hear your progress. And good luck with the soda - diet pepsi is one thing I haven't been able to kick - maybe you will inspire me to give it up.

Dee74 03-10-2017 03:14 AM

I hope she is too Duff - I miss her as well.

Oh my gosh I just became a GREAT AUNT! How did that happen?? Lol. 6.2 lb little girl and she's perfect.

Gilmer 03-11-2017 03:03 PM

That's insane!

But I've got a friend who became a grandmother at 34!

PhoenixJ 03-11-2017 03:16 PM

Congrats Duff. How did that happen?
