Waiting on call from the nurse to give
me an update, instructions and time to
pick my husband up.

Made it thru the night alone. Scared
a bit....lol....heard every little sound
of the house settling...lol....traffic thru
the A/C window unit vent behind our
bed....lol.... hot and cold flashes.....on
and off covers....lol I'm whooped ....lol

When you spend almost every minute
of everyday together in retirement
you pretty much depend on each other.

Normally he does all the driving which
is okay with me most of the time. We
shop together where i bag and he pays.

Anyway....

We are 11 yrs apart in age, and yep, he married
a young chick....lol Yet, we are pretty much in
sink with each other.

I know there will be times down the road
where i will need to step up to the plate
and take over things. Which at times seems
scary and anxiety pops up. However, i know
when that time comes, like now, it is my
responsibility to strong, caring, understanding
and supportive to the best of my human
ability.

You know, it tough being a grown up
at times.....lol

I have those very same thoughts about one day being alone down the road.

Hoping he will be home soon.

I got the Mr. home safe and sound and
sporting a new collar to help straighten
up. With the disc in his neck and nerves
shot causing him pain and hard to keep
his head held high, they went in to tighten
up everything and adding metal. The collar
will help support the head and neck to
heal properly.

Overall, he is in great shape, has to take
his meds accordingly, no driving for a month
or so and follow Dr. instructions. So, ill be his
chauffer and since he cut the grass before
his operation, maybe the grass wont grow
too fast in a month and wont need cutting.

They made an incision on the side of his neck,
moving his throat forward to get to the neck
column and operate. They said he would have
really sore throat afterwards, but thank God
he didn't and was able to eat grits, eggs and
sausage for breakfast there at the hospital.

Which is good news, cause we loaded up on
soft foods for him to eat at home. I guess he
can eat a more hardy meal than just baby food.

How about steak and baked potato ....lol soon.

Anyway, I think we both will sleep better
tonight knowing we are together again.

Thank you guys for being here for me
and keeping us in your thoughts and
prayers. It's always so comforting to
know you will be here for any of us thru
thick and thin. For better or worse. In
sickness and health.

Love you guys...!!!!

God Bless..!!!

The Mr. is sitting in his recliner, feet
on the ground, and seems to be sleeping
or resting peacefully for awhile now.

I'm sitting in my recliner, feet up, lol,
watching Gunsmoke....lol i love those oldie
but goodie shows from days gone by.
Gunsmoke, Bonanza and Andy Griffith
with little Opie where there's always a
wonderful lesson to learn or relearn and
sharing with you guys.

It's a peaceful afternoon for sure.

Good for hubby Sharon, glad he is gonna be okay. I gotta new project. My nephew bought the house his grandmother owned and his mother grew up in and the yard is full of rose bushes and they are probably 50 years old. They have roses but they are all grown over with weeds and such. Gonna bring them back to life. Snoochies, have a good day.

That is totally awesome Nefer.... RED ROSES
absolutely take my breath away like they did
earlier this morning.

I was surveying my backyard just to see
whats blooming and has new growth on
it. So i made it to the back fence where
I threw a bunch of Rose bushes could grow
and saw my cascading RED ROSE bush with
quite a few red ones already boomed and new
buds coming out.

They are a striking beautiful vibrant dark
alluring red Roses that would leave you
breathless. Then some deep purples and
some small yellow blooms peeking out from
under other leaves. OMgoodness. I was in
a garden of rose paradise.

When you groom those roses they will
bring you so much joy and beauty that
I'm sure will also leave you speechless.

Nef - How appropriate - roses for you to use your magic on. I'm sure they'll thrive under your care.

Sharon - MrH loves the old Gunsmoke's too - I think he's watched every single one by now.
Good to know your husband is peacefully resting.

Good to hear that your husband seems comfortable; bet that he is overjoyed to be home.

Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Maverick - good television.

Hello Nefer Rose luvers, including
myself....

Just wanted to pop in here mainly
because i feel comfy sharing....hope
you don't mind, but by no means
crashing the main thread for sure.

Been driving since hubby had his surgery
last Thursday. Whew, talk about a tad bit
stressful and a tad bit overwhelmed with
some anxiety.

Thank Goodness we have music in the
car using Sirus to listen to our 70's music
mostly. Ahhhh....the cool sounds of music
gone by. Oldies but goodies.

Karen Carpenter with....Sing, sing a song,
sing out loud, sing out strong.....remember
that one? Then Seals and Croft with
Hummingbird don't fly away and Tony
Orlando and Dawn with ....Tie a yellow ribbon
round the old oak tree.... And many many
more amazing songs.

When i listen to music, i listen to a message
it maybe saying in the words and often think
about you guys here. Music just takes me away
to a calmer place. A fun place. Just to escape
sometimes.

Anyway, i got one of my red Camellia plants
in the ground and looking for some rain. Seems
like i can water till I'm blue in the face, but
nothing works like magic like good ol rain.

Anyway.....hubby is doing well and getting
some walking in when we go to Walmart.
He hasn't complained at all, not that he
does, cause he's pretty much even keel.

He continues to wear the neck collar which
gets hot from time to time and makes him
itchy or sweaty because it has foam on it.

Anyway....i'll be happy when he can drive
again, but not for a month or so. Me, I
drive fine but because i don't do it on a regular
bases, my stress and anxiety pops up.

So by the time i get to where I'm going
and make it back home safe and sound
with my precious cargo, I'm whooped. lol

Time to take a chill pill and go outside
and walk around my flowers and listen
to the birds. Oh, and come here to connect
to you guys from far and near.

Thank guys as we look forward to seeing
what our awesome Nefer brings us from
his endless garden of paradise and some
amazing music to touch our souls.

Maybe a song with inspiring messages
of love, hope, faith, strength, beauty,
friendship, etc.

Sharon - I'm glad he's feeling well enough to walk around Walmart.

I don't drive much either, & when I do it's not the effortless, natural thing it once was. I drove all over the place & thought nothing of it - even those Cali freeways, NYC, etc. Not sure I'd be up for it now - I'm out of practice.

Good to know you are doing quite well, considering. Thanks for the update.

Thank guys for letting me share my
thoughts, feeling and day with you.
It's always comforting to know that
we never have to go thru anything
alone or by ourselves.

Have a great, awesome Monday my
SR friends.

Nefer, How's it going on your end?
