Great going, Badge. on the 80 days.

Nice to see you, Mkl.

Toml, congrats on your sober journey...regardless of length. The fact that I didn't drink for more than 4000 days once eventually became a useless stat during my 2500 or so days of repeated relapse that followed. I am most happy that I have zero plans to drink or use today.

I was laying on the sofa watching a movie last night and had this thought about how nice of a day it was. Nice day of work, great workout with gym peeps, (I take classes and enjoy the social aspect as much as the workouts), riding home from gym one of my lifelong buddies called to say he booked his flight to visit and golf next month, day 29 dinner of my Whole 30 was dyno...then, there I was, chillin with a flick.

Just middle of the road stuff (or, as Bim puts it, "Simple sober pleasures")...yet, in reflection, it was full of peace, serenity and joy for mind, body and spirit.

Glee, my best with interviews and house move. Keep finding peace and serenity in the process...the outcome will be what it will be.

Cour, purpose and/or fun. Haha, my new simple activity gauge...thanks.

Gilmer, I'm with you on affection for the group. I got a sweet message yesterday from Tanja, one of my first friends on SR. It's wonderful to see the joy that sobriety is offering. I see that so much in your posts, Gilmer!

Hi, Dee.

Well, time for a coconut milk latte - ahh, simple pleasures.

Have a good one, all.

Carlos

That's truly welcome news badge! Thanks for being here

I have a big day -- first day teaching this term. Wish me luck, for my students' sake. I for sure won't drink-and-teach (which I'm ashamed to say wasn't always true).

I can feel the adrenaline skyrocketing you out of the doldrums!

I hope it's a great bunch of students!

I'm sure you're offering prime stuff to this new class of yours!

Good luck, C2. I would love to have you as a teacher...and I'm certain that a "certain" ex teacher of mine was frequently under the influence. It's okay, so were we.

Googling things I say is funny. I make stuff up a lot, so good luck with that as well.

Congrats to all on the day counts.

It's cold here. I moved away from Florida. Somehow I think I got this backwards.

Not drinking today. Things are so much calmer this way.

Badge - Nice job on 80 days sober. I think your celebration plan is perfect!

Mklove - Thank you for the good vibes. I'll make it though.

Carlos - Sounds like a perfect day. Great example of peace with the present.

Courage - I have always wondered what you teach, and in my minds eye I'm torn between imagining you teach literature or statistics - although if it's too personal or specific, you need not share! I hope you have a great start of the semester today.

Gilmer, Bim - I hope you keep enjoying the peace and comfort of sobriety today. I will too!

Hi Gil, Courage, things in Boston are just fine. People are getting pumped up for the Patriot's on Sunday, we're all pretty glad it hasn't been a winter from hell (yet.)
Badger, 81 is great! 193 times I have not woken up hung over. I love that part, can tell you do too.

All positive numbers are good. No more day-zeros for me!

[Glee, I teach statistics and test theory, mostly. I wouldn't like to teach literature, although I went a ways down that path. Then I thought, what would I tell other people? "Just read it."]

hello all checking in for another 24. the sweet thing about graveyard is that #1 I sleep most of the morning, #2, I am to foggy the rest of the day to open a bottle even if I had one. I do however have to get off my arse tomorrow and get my hair cut, no promises on that though...

Today is 3 years and 1 day since the day I sat at my desk at noon --it was a Sunday-- with a pint of vodka and thought, I'm back to this. What a grim thought that was, to be chained to liquor. It's 3 years since I gave up that chain.

I'm not going to put it back on today.

Just time for a quick congrats, Cour! You are a long way from that pint today and a real inspiration. We share this day of the month, lefty...44 months here.

It is the most amazing day here...mid 70's and not a cloud in the sky. Can't find a golfer, so, off to the beach to bake!
