I Will Not Drink/Use Today Part 4
Carlos - That is an EPIC Dream. That rambling, nonsensical type of dreaming is how I dream most nights - a little something you probably didn't know about me.
My new job is going to have some similarities to my current one, but there will be quite a lot of changes to what I currently do. Right now I'm well liked because I'm helpful to many people, but in the new position I will be overseeing a team of about 16 - 20 people. I've never had to motivate and inspire people to work very hard in demanding conditions. It's uncharted territory for me and I want to succeed.
I don't know exactly what to do to achieve that, but kf there's one thing I've learned it's that the first step to any success is being sober.
Thursday is 3 years for me.

Re my work, I'm keeping my door shut or most of the way shut. It's meetings that kill me. Plus people who want to tell me their woes. When did I become Suzy Sympathizer?
Carlos, nice sleep adventure!
I miaow in my sleep. Don't care much about drunk dreams, because I don't drink.

Quick post as I prepare for my 30 yard work commute between rooms.
Congrats to Glee and Badge on their sober milestones. Y'all Rock the Casbah!
I've no plans to partake in alcohol or drug activity today. Besides, haha, I have a date this weekend with an officer of the law.
Was just thinking about the simple pleasure of driving a car with a clean and healthy mind, body and spirit...it eliminates any telephone pole magnetic field. #justsayin
Have a goot one...

Badge - 100 Days is a terrific milestone. Way to go! I'm happy for you.
Tom - You rock too. I think the way others meet their milestones is by having each other to lean on. Thanks for being here.
Gilmer - Did I read you broke your tooth on a cheeseburger? I hope the dentist visit went well. Thanks for your support and being a "rock" for others.
Courage - Thanks for the grats. Thanks for always sharing your inner world. I relate to so many of your struggles. And it's cool that you can keep your door closed at work when you need to.
Carlos - Thank you Bestie for your friendship. We found a real bond in recovery....and stationery....and Latin (of all things!) Some of my fondest sober experiences have been touring around NYC, The Burgh, and DC with you! I hope you enjoy your date with the Officer Babraham. (And if you two head to Alaska, be sure to suit up. )
I'm grateful that I opened my heart and my mind to recovery and found anew way of living in AA. Carlos posted The Promises on the Overs thread, and that about sums up my experiences.

Hi All,
No plans on my end for drink or drugs today.
Just ordered a book from Amazon this morning that I am pretty excited to start working with...One Breath at a Time: Buddhism and the Twelve Steps...
Not sure where it will take my thoughts for growing in recovery, but, based on the excerpts and reviews, it seems to be spot on with my overall approach.
Woohoo...it's Friday! My morning bodypump instructor calls it my new Friday happy hour. Funny thing - it is.
Have a good one.
