Class of May 2016 Support Thread Part 9
Simp- hi. Thanks for asking. V-E-R-Y slowly. Have (posted today) to reapply with same paperwork as 7 months ago. Was advised not to do this at the central housing office site- as nothing gets done. So out to the 'burbs to post in at a satellite office. Another govt dept- where I applied for help- re burns stuff- 17 months ago, then re applied 8 months ago and numerous enquires- I sent a query to the Minister (the big guy who runs the country gig)- got an email and 2 phone calls in the last 3 days. Profuse apols. they had every enquiry (in their words 'numerous') and all the paperwork, but it was never actioned. Now been shuffled to3 different sections. At least some one has a pulse. A little bit frustrating. One app. was not processed with approval because they said my burns had not been 'proven to be permanent and stable'. How much more permanent can 20% 4th degree burns be?
So I cope with art and being weird with humour.
so there.

Oh Sim, I totally agree, you guys feel like family to me too
Sorry to hear you're in such pain. I hope you'll be better soon, so you're fit and healthy when you start the new job. Only a few more sleeps and you're there.
Hey PJ, I feel for you, bl**dy civil servants are the same all over the world (apart from any on SR of course :scared) The older I get the more I enjoy it giving them my time of the day. Good luck PJ. If you need a moan we're here to listen.
Yes, Dyfi is my favorite dog, she is six now and she came to us when she was 2 1/2. I drove 3 hours up north, watched her work for half an hour, bought her and drove 3 hours back. Probably one of the best things I've ever done. She loves watching TV and has already broken one TV screen with her nose. So much for LCD screens.
Sim, I'll let you know about the 'adding pics' ok.
Have a good and sober Thursday guys, lots of love.....

Hi all!
Sorry, Ive been absent. Lots going on here. My committee I joined sponsored an event for Vets and Suicide awareness this week, and it had an impact on me. Not from a suicidal standpoint, but just the things that they have gone through and suffer from to this day and the awareness in our area anyways just isn't there. The man sitting behind me as we were getting ready to watch a documentary called Project 22 ( google it if you have a sec) confided that he tried to commit suicide last month. What do you say to that? I offered my support, told him he was in the right place to find some resources, and held his hand. Halfway through the movie, he left. I tried to find him after to check in and I couldn't find him. It made me sad.
On the flip side, things are moving along here-- preparing the homestead for the puppy and getting excited to have her here. I cannot stand it, I am so excited!
Glad to hear from all of you!!! You guys have been my family for a long time. Even tho we don't talk everyday, or really even talk, have never seen each other, etc. I look forward to "seeing" each and every one of you!!!
Thanks for being that!
All my best!
Camery

Dogumentary sounds great PJ, that's really funny. I could through some sheep in as well :-)
Hey Camery, you took a sensitive subject head on, well done. Living in a farming community we hear a lot about suicide unfortunately and we've lost a friend last year. It's all so sad and that's why awareness is so important.
When will the little pup arrive, I'm so excited with you.
Totally feel the same about our little SR family we have here, so wonderful.
Wishing you all a good and sober Friday. The weekend is near.

Happy April Fools Day folks! I do believe my neck & shoulder are on the mend. It's now down graded to feeling as if I've been punched in my shoulder repeatedly with an occasional fiery burning feeling that radiates down my arm into my hand. Definitely will not be taking pain free living for granted after this episode is over! Nothing like trying to care for patient's while in pain with a frozen smile plastered to your face
Camery- That's tough stuff all the way around but don't negate the power of a simple act of kindness such as holding his hand. That's powerful stuff and lingers in one's mind long after the moment ends. Prayer for him
PJ- sounds like bureaucratic BS is alive and well all across the world. Common sense just doesn't seem to be so common anymore
Elke- I'd watch your dogumentary!
130 days sober here! Had a very real craving last evening for a beer followed by a drinking dream. Blah. The very thought of drinking makes me feel icky. Life is so much better sober and I'm finally starting to like myself again. It's been a clip since I've felt that way about myself
Had the lil man last evening for a couple of hours. He's growing like a weed and looking more and more like his Oma every time I see him Not sure yet what's on tap for the rest of the weekend......
Wishing y'all a great sober weekend!

Happy Saturday and April Fools day to all!
Finally a warm spring day here in the frozen tundra of WI! Yippee. I am excited to get the house open and enjoy the sun.
Not much on tap today-- we are "puppy stuff" shopping today for the things we will need when she gets here, which is April 29! We decided on Alexandria Rose for her full name and Alex, or Alee for short.
I hope everyone is doing well! Sim-- I am with you on the cravings. As the temps get warmer, and the smell of summer arrives, for some reason a cold beer always sounds good. Then I realize....... I don't have any, beer wasn't even my drink of choice, and opt for something else just as cold. Oh, the joys.
I just realized my one year anniversary is coming up--- May 3 2016 was my sober date!!
Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Happy Monday Folks! Last week (4 days) of madness at this job! Yay! I know every place has it's issues.....fingers crossed that the issues I'm inheriting with the new job doesn't include a crazy boss!
We had a great weekend...just the hubs and me! He actually had off for a change so we stole away to the cute little town we married in; ate out, did a little shopping, and some hiking. We skipped the winery All in all a nice little quick getaway! Battery feels recharged and I'm ready to bang out this week. Figures of all weeks this would be a slow one at work Have 4 days and only 2 1/2 of actual work....Blah. On the upside my shoulder is feeling soooo much better and my AV is back in check so things are looking up!
Wishing y'all a great day
Camery-Alexandria Rose is such a pretty name! Congrats on nearing a year, that's huge my friend!

Congrats on 130+ days Sim and 11 months Camery, it sounds like you had great weekends.
29th April is still a good while to wait for the little pup, you must be looking forward to it so bad....
Sim, good to hear that your shoulder is better.
Hello Dee and PJ and everyone lurking, hope you're all well.
We're still in the middle of lambing. If the weather is good as it was Sat and Sun it's brilliant, today cold and wet again, the poor little things. I love feeding them with the bottle. We get the odd once left behind and I get to cuddle them, nice.
Sim, the sparkling water will be on ice on your last day this week and I will raise a glass or two for you. Btw, how's your friend, still all loved up and happy I hope?
Have a good Tuesday!

Elke- lurking? LURKING? I am shocked, yes shocked! Does this heart not also feel? Do I not also bleed? Am I not human?
My lurking is very quiet. I am a very respectful lurker.
Heello btw, how are you?
par'n me- have more lurking to do.

Bawhahahahahahahaha ! That was great PJ! Thank you for the laugh first thing in the morning! I enjoy your quiet lurking and quirky sense of humor! Glad you're with us!
The countdown is on in the SimLand! 3 days to go.......and Sim is sensing conflict ahead with the boss lady & new gal. Poor thing has no clue what she's walking into and I refuse to be the one to tip her off.....it's like watching a soap opera unfold before my very eyes
Elke-Yes, the gal pal is still over the moon in love and it seems to be going well for them and I'm happy that she's happy We don't talk as much as we used too but the conversations are far more light hearted when we do. Wish I lived close enough to pop in for tea and little lambs! I would love to bottle feed one of those sweet little buggers!
Wishing everybody a super fantabulous Tuesday!

Simp- yes I know you were laughing- before you posted- I WAS LURKING.
Hope all are okay. Remember there is strength in sharing words. Also that the best and most important time to do so is when you sdo not want to.
AArgh- Jamie Oliver is on tele- just smashing up a bit'o garlic, with greens a slapsh of $9000 olive oil, then we whack it on a board. And some smashed avocado and crap.

Good Evening Mayflies!
OK 1 shift left to go.....Not that I'm counting I was called into the administrators office today As it turns out they've decided to open a disciplinary file on the boss lady and they're requesting a written statement from me detailing the ongoing harassment that has led to my resignation. Too little, too late for me, but perhaps it will help the next schlep to fill my shoes. So I shall gladly comply.....now how to write this professionally? I kind of just want to cut to the chase and write, "she's a dick". I mean, that pretty much sums it up....but I'm going to make an educated guess that that won't fly, so I'll doll it up with decorum and etiquette, pepper it with a few fancy words and legal phrases like, "hostile work place environment" and "sexual harassment", and call it a day.
Got together with a few co-workers after work for a little "goodbye" dinner. Had me some good ole fashioned H2O and a cool refreshing coke. It never seems to stop raising eyebrows.
As far as the shoulder goes. It has it moments, but it's wayyyyy better than it was, so no complaints here!
Wishing y'all a happy Thursday!

Hey Sim, you made it and you even have the chance to let it rip with your old boss. she's a dick.... love it Sim...
I hear you about drinking non alcoholic drinks, it's the same for me. We were visiting friends the other night and I usually drive back so he can have a drink or 5. But that night I was so tired that he offered to drive back. So he couldn't drink. When he told our friend that he will have a cup of tea, our friends face almost dropped to the floor ha ha. I too get so many comments why I'm not drinking etc. But also a lot of people especially women think it's great and wish they could do it.
Hey, we're sober and I'm bl***y proud of it.
Have you checked out the New Posts today? There is a thread for Dee celebrating 10 years sober today 6 April. It will take some time to read all posts...totally amazing.
Dee, if you're lurking.... Big congratulation again!
(Did you like that PJ)
Much love to you all, life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful X
