88 Days today and my plan must move to action.

This means that I have to get off my skinny little arse and move it...get in on.

So, just checking in, hangin' in and doin' my best like the rest of us.

Thinking of you all, and can't thank you enough. All the flowers are pretty.

Checking in at 78 days
Just gotten home from getting a blood test, I do not like needles but this woman was awesome cause I barely felt it go in. Nice one!
Now I wait for the results, apparently they will be ready by Monday so an anxious sort of weekend for me. In a nutshell my dentist recently got shut down by QLD Health due to hygiene practices so thousands of Queenslanders who have been to this practise since Nov 2014 have to get tested for Hep B, C, HIV. Amazing that this sort of thing still happens in a first world country these days.
I am just trying to not think about it. I know I certainly won't be drinking to try and alleviate the anxiety.
Anyway peeps, have a great day and I will check back in after my morning walk

Thanks Dee I'm keeping busy and when I do think about it, I consciously try to think positively. Not easy but it's good practise I reckon.

Hoping for best results for you Poppy.....what a cretin, the dentist!

It's really good when I find myself writing "I'm not going to drink over it"....as I saw in your post. Life on life's terms. Yay!

I'm doing my little bits and pieces according to plan, but not pushing myself. Soon as I get some money it will expand in the right direction, for the moment it's cleaning up this tip. First things first

Trying to practice positive thinking too.

Good luck Poppy.

Omfg i just got some pretty horrific news.

In november i was promoted to an office thats 40 mins from my house as opposed to 60-90 mins which is how far my previous office was.

After 2 months of being tardy and calling out sick more often than usual the manager tells me theyre sending me back to my old office and position. Oh and i start in 2 days. Messed up part is i switched my kids daycare 3 times trying to find the right fit near the new position. I literally cant switch them again until July because of rules of the childcare subsidy program i belong to.

So now i feel totally f**ked and uncared for. I was crying to them to at leaste demote my position and pay but let me stay in the closer office but thats a no go.

After gathering myself and discussing it with my daycare provider i figured out that i can make it work if my job allows me to come in and leave earlier. Ill find out hopefully tomorrow if they will.

Otherwise i feel like throwing in the towel but it sucks to leave on a bad note and throw away 3 years worth of references since i doubt they would speak highly of me now.

And drinking had nothing to do with most of my absences, but a creeping depression totally did.

LLG- remember HALTS(ad), avoid doing stuff when high emotions kick in (like drive, phone the boss or emails) and post heaps. Do you have a counsellor/AA meeting- you can get to? Stay safe.

Oh LiveLikeGold, childcare and employers, and mothers, and trying to make it work! My kids have grown but I get the drift and understand the not feeling cared for - you weren't!

I don't know how it works there, but is there no way that you can challenge their change of mind in terms of contractual obligations on their part?

Seems to me that they breached contract. I also know that it would be difficult to work under such circumstances even if you were to succeed. It sucks.

Hopefully your employer will agree to a change in your working hours so that it can be made possible, they'd have to be real d/heads if they didn't. Maybe they are, given that you even sought demotion and pay reduction. Again, it sucks.

Hang in there LLG you have us behind you even if only through our posts, our genuine posts of support. We are the Nobenders, never forget that LLG

Believe me when I say that having not picked up a drink during my own really depressed state I am slowly emerging, and for you it will be the same.

We are all in this together, and together we will pray, wish, will, that tomorrow sees your employer grow a heart and a brain. Hold tight sista girl.

Hi Kimmy. How are things going? Im also in the January class now but love this class all the same.

Thank you so much for everyones kindness. I came to work packed up my desk and did work. My immediate manager told me my work wasnt an issue that with Trump in power there are budget freezes and all temp positions are being placed on back burner which i get. The dm totally placed the blame on me so it was nice of my manager to contradict that. I still havent heard if ill get the schedule change i need but im just trying to hold my head high. I sent a cheery email to the boss im returning to. I at least want to get through this and come out on the other end with my job. If i leave i want it to be on a good note, not feeling like i was squeezed out. Im gonna go get a soda can and finish this work day.

Love to you all.

Day 79 and my AV just reared its ugly head. I'm bored, and would normally ease that boredom by having a few thousand drinks.
I do not like this AV at all.
Might go set up my easel and paint.
Hope everyone is having a lovely Saturday.

Hi LiveLikeGold and Steely. Thanks for your thoughts. Just having a bad day. Really annoyed with myself and disappointed as I am still letting things in on me so much. It's so strange that the logic of how you are able to cope with things so much better when sober is sometimes so difficult to put into practice. I also need to come back to SR and log in daily. Learnt my lesson as having you guys with me on this journey give me a sense of purpose and the feeling of togetherness. As my therapist said today we all need a support system and you guys were very much part of mine. I think I also felt ashamed of the fact that I slipped was the last thing I wanted to happen. Big hugs to you all. So proud of you all. X

Hey it's me again just sticking my head in and spouting my own update. It happened again and this time Bf and I did fight, we got saparated then reunited last night, and fought through some pretty intense depression and I was the scary one today. SO it's back to the program for BOTH of us. We are jumping back on the wagon together and we are going to hold each other accountable. Of course I do spend most of my week alone so I realize that I'm largely on a solo journey. That's good though. I can tell that Bf is ready again too. I'm so relieved. Well, one more try here.
