Class of March 2016 part 39
Heeeeelllllo. (add inflection). Interesting day. The last part was funny. A staff member in the recovery I am at goes 'the extra mile' for us loonies. Plants flowers, makes deco's at Xmas, organises c- buys and cooks for herself, trivia night.
Tonight she organised a decoupage (?) decorate your own box/jar for positive memories of 2017- to open on 1/1/18. All those stick it on diary things they advertise for 9 year old girls for their 'my pretty pony' diaries.
I had a hoot- I enjoyed it. I chose an old box that once would have had granny soaps in it- all pink and bows. I 'pimped' it out with the most horrendous bling. The more awful it got- the more I enjoyed it- just for the enjoyment of doing something silly. It truly would make any 9 year old girl shriek with mortified embarrassment. Glue on disco glitter- little mirrors, glue pen sparkle- I went the whole distance man. I only went 'cos this staff member is a very caring person. Ended up enjoying it.

PJ - that sounds like a riot! Nice to have a staffer who cares so much.
AK - day 12 here too. It feels good!
DD was complaining that her stomach hurt this morning. No fever, so we proceeded to school. She threw up in the car (Thankully I keep baggies on hand bc she often gets car sick). She felt a little better after that so she still went to school. We'll see if I get a call.
Happy Friday the 13th!!

Hi all. My first post although I feel like I have been here the whole time!!I found you guys on March 26 of last year and been here ever since lurking. I finally got the nerve to join. Silly, but guess afraid once I joined there was no turning back! Through the grace of the HP and you guys, I have been sober almost 10 months. Now on to real recovery! Excited to be out of the shadows. You guys are all awesome.
Did I post this in right place?i feel dumb but the site was confusing for me to figure how to post even after reading the help threads!!

Sorry, CH, can't thank a post where DD is ill. Hopefully it's a quick little bug and she's better by tomorrow to enjoy the weekend.
Welcome, amijax. In the right place absolutely. Welcome to the group and major congratulations on the 10 months!

Hi everyone, quick check in. Still here and sober. Some days are definitely harder than others, but we just have to keep fighting the fight. No doubt, it is incredibly hard at times.
Nothing really planned for tonight. Have dinner in the crockpot so at least that is done. Still have Xmas decorations laying all over the house so may try to tackle that if the kiddos let me. Hope everyone has a nice and sober weekend

Changed my mind, I don't care for this post beyond admitting the issue I mentioned was that I crossed the "I don't drink at work" barrier.
And, the closing:
amijax0327, I could learn a thing or two or twenty from you. Please share more of how got sober if you're willing. For that matter, share anything with which you are comfortable.

Checking in on my way home....English Breakfast tea in hand. Will catch up tonight but just wanted to take a page from CH's book and tell you all that I will not be making any stops......just heading straight home.
