Checking in this afternoon. Home from work and feeling sleepy. Going to make some omletes and turkey bacon for dinner. Quiet night planned...I see that Alice Through the Looking Glass is loaded on Netflix now so maybe I will watch that.

Watched 1st season of The Crown today. It's good. Lithgow was an amazing Churchill.

Just realized I forgot to check in before leaving work. Sure enough AV started in. So I guess the check in really do help! Don't worry, I didn't listen to AV.

Anyway, I'm at DD's basketball game. Will check in again when I get home. Love you all!

Hello class! Solo with my littles tonight. Did a picnic dinner in the living room. Fun. I may take a bubble bath and read or watch a show. I started New Girl today, not sure if I will keep watching that or not.

Hope all is well. Big hugs everyone.

Me again! Just got back from drum lesson...

Reading up on some info about ascites.....I don't want to depend on "Dr. Google" but from what I've read it looks like something I may have. Has anyone seen a doctor about liver issues? I'm sure I should ~ wondering would that be something to see my regular doctor for, or a specialist? Hmmmmm.....

And of course there are more concerts coming up this year! Yikes!

Thanks again everyone for being here ~ Awesome job!

Home! They won again tonight. It was a tournament game, so now they move on to the consolation championship Saturday morning (lost the first tournament game). With tomorrow night's game that will make four games in four nights! She didn't get the ball this game, but played some good defense. I've been telling her that the ball won't come to her...she needs to go after it! We have two really tall 4th graders on the team that make most of the baskets. Last night it was one girl who scored all the points (6), and tonight it was the other's turn to score all the points (12). DD is one of the smaller players, so her shots don't often make it to the rim, lol. She has fun though, that's what's most important.

My guess is regular doctor, at least to start. My liver numbers were fine a few years ago. I'm sure I should have a physical this year. But no outwardly apparent issues.

The only experience I have with ascites is that my grandma had it. Her stomach got huge. She died from cirrhosis when she was 60.

Skip Dr google like you said and go for a checkup. It's on my list to do this year!

Did I mention I finished The Shack awhile ago? Enjoyed it. I had to really pay attention while reading though- different than my surface novels for enjoyment, and different than recovery related ones I devour as well. The Shack comes out in theaters in March too and cast looks great.

AK - picnic dinners are fun!

Purple - I'd start with your primary doc. They can run blood work. You can always get referred if need be. Typically cheaper than going straight to a specialist.

PJ, it's 0330 here. I've been waking up very early for whatever reasons.

Purpl, I've been diagnosed with ascites, though I'm not sure what the difference between that and just a beer gut is. If I drink it sometimes feels like I swallowed a basketball. Just don't drink and check with your regular doc.

Thanks for reminding me what's at stake. I've got a required (for insurance) checkup coming up and it sure would be nice to have normal liver functions again. We'll see.

Hope everyone is over the crud. I slipped through without a symptom, but I never travel without hand sanitizer, lol.

I gorged myself on Cincinnati chili (Skyline) while here for three days. Skyline is 300 miles away from my home in PA so when I'm here you know where to find me. If you're ever near Cincy, by all means try it. Yum.

Going home today. 500 miles in a car. Some fun.

Have a great day everyone.

as I understand it ascites is fluid build up, beer belly is just plain ol' fat build up.

That makes sense, Dee. How can any of us forget what's at stake? And yet we often do.

But not today.

Morning class!!

Purplrks - I agree with everyone here....go see your doctor. Only he/she can really tell you what's going on. Dr. Google is a quack.

Well on my second cuppa startin' fluid alreadythis norning. Yep it's going to be that kind of day I think.

I'm not going to drink today.

Morning!!! Day 12.

Happy Friday the 13th AND full moon. I know this can't mean good things for us parents of young kids. Not sure about the other adults lol but gooooood luck!

What's everyone doing on their sober Friday night?

Anyone currently reading any good recovery material?
