Well.... Looks like my company is going out of business. I'll get the final word while on vacation.

If no buyer by 4/7, we start liquidation. Had a buyer looking but they backed out a few weeks ago. Haven't heard anything since.

CEO just quit today too.

I was expecting this. It's not a shock. I'm very calm about it actually. Ready to take a vacation and relax. When I come back, we'll either have been bought, or in liquidation mode.

If we close, I'll get to file unemployment this time. Unfortunately, the look back period to determine my pay is back to when I was making chump change, and I'll get 50% of that. It'll be tight again for sure.

This time, I feel very confident on job prospects. Even though I'll be competing with several others.

I simply LOVE how I'm able to handle these issues nowadays.

Sorry about the job front Inc. I seem to remember you saying when you took this job that the company was not in great shape and you realized that there might not be a long term future with them.

Glad that you are remaining calm about the situation!

Yup. You're right. And who knows.... Somebody could come in and buy the company at the last minute for a good price.

I know one of the general managers in a store that was closed a month ago. They go through a liquidation process. Actually, liquidators come in and manage it all.

They offered him 2k bonus to stay through it all. I'll take that and skip to the bank!

I just went on your company's web site Inc and all my local stores are listed as closing. Doesn't look like a white knight is riding to the rescue. Sorry about that!

Pumped up my tires and did a wonderful 12 mile bike ride in the park this morning. Feels great to get exercise and sunshine. A total mood changer for me.

Have a good day all!

Howdy from sunny Florida! Arrived yesterday and relaxed at pool at my mom's community. Very nice.

Today we decided to visit aquarium because was going to be 90 degrees and 98% humidity. Was nice and had a good time.

Tomorrow is rain until afternoon then mid 70's. We'll end up back in the same area as one of the girls left their phone there :/

It's showing up on 'find my iPhone'
Which, BTW, is the coolest feature ever. Hopefully we get it back.

Been very relaxing so far. Had a conf call at 830 this morning with company president. I hung up from call once he said no buyer yet. Lol. I'm on vacation!

I love the gulf side of Florida. I could see myself retiring there, but the Mrs. will have nothing to do with Florida living.

too far for me.
I check/ghost this thread- because April 2015 was the beginning of my fatal spiral into irreversible damage caused by booze. It helps centre me.

Hi,
I started out here after just less than 30 years of daily excessive drinking, with all manner of serious problems over the years. I have alcohol abuse in my family history, so I guess it was fairly likely to happen. I don't blame anyone but me, by the way. I had a choice, always had.

I didn't have a rock bottom moment two years ago - I had plateaued at a level that allowed me just to hold down a living, but not to progress in any real respects. I would get through the working week, drink even more at the weekend and just about scrape through life. I was extremely good at hiding it. I can't honestly say what drove me to stop on that particular day - I had tried and failed so many times - I was determined to do just one day sober, which I did. Then I thought I would go for another - One More Day - OMD. I survived the sickness and headaches and all that stuff and all of a sudden I had put down 2 weeks and started to feel good.

It's going to be 2 years tomorrow.

OMD
