I imagine tonight will be a huge drinking night for many guests on his cruise ship. He was in home port this morning, so that means it's the 1st Day of the cruise too! A double celebration for me, in my drinking days.

My reflections so far on 2017. For all of you- most have not experienced as much of 2017 as I have- believe me, I've been here longer than most of you. I thought my thoughts might be udseful
2016+ 1 = 2017. Write that down, you WILL need to know this. The world, apparently is still turning. Whether 2016 was crap, great or indifferent, Jan 1 is a day just like yesterday- because the mantra is the same- strength in unity, do not drink, default to that thought every day. For me it is symbolic. There is someone here who has been given 2 weeks to improve or move on- not because of drug abuse, bad behaviour- but because they have not changed- no improvement, there is nothing more recovery can do for them unless they make the effort, try to improve with depression and isolation. So MY mantra is, dear patient readers- Do not drink, embrace life sober, life is a gift and THIS moment, now- is where it all happens. Peace and blessings from what ever divine force be with you and your loved ones. Namaste.

This is the fourth new years eve for me. That is, the fourth that I will remember tomorrow. The others might as well not have happened, except that they brought me to where I am today.
