Happy New Year to all, here's to a sober 2017.
And silly Bob, the ball in New York drops for my dogs birthday. I tell her that every year, she is a big, loveable Newfoundland. 8 years old today, am heading out to pick up her cake in a minute. I know, I know, crazy dog lady.

They are fantastic dogs if you can stand the slobber and hair. She is so sweet and I never have to worry about her around people or other dogs. If I were her I would have eaten by daughter's annoying little dog by now, he will not leave mine alone. Mine sometimes holds him down with her paw, but that's it. I have a Landseer, they do not drool as much. I am lucky, she only drools when hot or really excited, it is not constant. As for VA being too hot, eh, maybe but a pool helps. I have the only non-swimming Newf in the world. She loves water as long as she can touch bottom. I have an inground pool and she will have none of it so every summer I buy her a baby pool to keep cool, which she loves. That being said she does not sit out with us for long in the summer, she prefers the air conditioning. Now come a blizzard in January and she will sit by the pool forever, lol.

Firstly, Lulu. Awesome that you posted. Thanks for sharing.xx
Secondly, just want to say to everyone in the thread, if I don't thank all posts etc. I'm just madly trying to keep up with what's going on, it's not personal!xx
Super busy, super lucky right now.
My partner didn't even mention getting or having a drink on New Years (and bonus, I didn't even realise that fact til this morning). How lucky am I? To find someone wonderful, but also someone that has zero interest in drinking to excess or to relax or even socialise.

It's 7:45 pm here on the East coast U.S.
I'm home alone right now as I dropped off my daughter at her friends house.
And my wife is at work for another 1/2 hr.
I'm never really surprised at how much the bars are packed this night.
We always hope that everybody that's out doesn't drive while intoxicated.
But tragically, we often see the accidents and DUIs from the previous night on the morning news.
That would be a terrible way to start a new year.

Hi guys, hate to be a downer on the holiday since you guys have all done so well but...having thoughts of buying a bottle when my daughter leaves for work in about an hour. I managed to kick it away for now. I am also posting in the December 2016 class. I am so cranky and irritable, ugh. Hate myself for picking up again after 2 years of sobriety!
You can get through this LuLu - remember this thread - some great tips here

just because you can drink doesn't mean you have to - imagine how much better you'll feel tomorrow for not drinking?

Hang in there LuLu....we can get through another day sober together.
A nice cup of tea and a cookie might be nice.
Sending love. ♥
Crois ~ I am so very happy for you love. Just so happy. ♥

Thanks everyone, I will stay close. My daughter leaves for work in about 45 minutes. I will stay close and keep posting. Why do I feel stupid? Ugh, so frustrating. It seems so strange to me when detoxing and feeling like crap that just going to buy the poison that is killing you would make you feel better in one drink.
