No need for apologies.....

Always appreciate your opinion Dee.

New day, rained in.....

I'm doing some reading on Joe Walsh from the Eagles. He's sober and has released a new album. My lord he wrote some good tunes. Many stars from bands, movies etc have gone sober it's amazing to read their stories.

have a good day everyone....

Was just thinking about mr. Walsh today ... love those eagles ... yes, there is a myriad of sober-celeb-types. Inspiring, really. But not as inspiring as my fools!

I was at my mil's funeral and ran into an old friend that has been in recovery for almost 25 years. Was so encouraging to fess up to her about my recovery as well and to hear what she had to say ... after she got over her shock lol ... why are peeps always so shocked about me? Does that mean I'm just a good liar ?!

Happy Thursday, y'all

There is an episode of F/Towers where Basil is acting loopy because a moose head he tries mounting on the wall falls on him and he gets concussion. A German tourist group come for lunch and he tells everybody not to mention the war. He then mentions the war a lot to the group. One lady starts crying. Basil demands to know why. He is told it is all his fault. Basil retorts- not it is not- you invaded Poland. Not mentioned because of the war, or cultures. I mentioned it because it is one of the classic F/Tower bits that is remembered by practically anyone I know who watch it. Apologies- a bit lateral.

Classic episode!
Did you see the one where Basil starts hitting his car with a tree branch, as punishment for breaking down? Lol.

Obos- Sounds like you're dealing with a lot. Way to stay sober in the face of an uncontrollable situation. Dee pretty much summed it up, but I will add that I continually have to remind myself all I can control is my self and how I react to things out of my control. If I'm dealing with a difficult person, I make sure my side of the street is clean and don't play into their negativity.

Hope you're all doing well! It's been a good week. I got a new job offer, but had to go to the court house to pull some records from my DUI. At first I was all pissed off feeling like this was ridiculous. "I disclosed this on my application, what more do they need?!". I realized once I calmed down that I was just embarrassed about my past and my anger was just covering up an insecurity. Walking into the court house, I realized it was the first time I've ever been in court and not having my freedom or facing a big fine on the line. Life is better than it's ever been. I just have to keep working this stuff.

In for the bargain!

Good stuff! I like the way you think, Noolan

Yes, we have to keep working it ... !

In for the bargain too- tomorrow is a hard day- a tough anniversary. I feel like dealing with it sober is a gift to myself and my loved one I miss so much ... prayers appreciated to make it through!

Free- im reading "the power of now" ... I like it ...

Thinking of you Izzy, anniversaries can be tough, but much better to be sober.

I'm glad you're enjoying the Power of Now. I have my ticket for Eckharts evening teaching in London, when he comes over in September. If looks like i have a seat near the front, so I should have a good view.

Have a great sober weekend everyone. Let's end this year strong, and look forward to a whole new future in 2017

Yes, all ok, just.

Walked in on MIL in bathroom at 2am. I just grunted at her as she said sorry....

Very accurate Noolan, thanks.

It's constantly pretty testy here though, the old control v acceptance issues.

Adapt adjust accommodate type of thing...

Easier in theory than practice though.....

You can do it Obo.

It doesn't have to be graceful all the time, you just gotta get through it without blowing up and/or drinking...

Managing this situation will be such a kick in the teeth for your AV, Obo. Every sober day that goes by will strengthen your soul, and bring you closer to the happy life you deserve. Remember, it's only temporary. I'm so excited to hear your shout of victory when the in laws go. We'll have a virtual party, just let us know when they're on the plane
