It is 3 minute meditations Free & Obo. A walk will be a great way to bring in the New Year Free.....I think I might take one with you! I've been missing that with my feet hurting.

18 days headed into the New Year is great Obo..! So many possibilities if we only not drink. I was tempted being all dressed up leaving the party tonight where I work to make a stop but came home pulled on the fleece sleepers a big flannel jacket & the cat, poor girl is wrapped around my leg afraid of the fireworks......and so here we are

Happy New Year All!!!

I'm not a fan of fireworks, too noisy for me. I had a good night's sleep. Usually on NYE our neighbours have fireworks and I'm woken up at midnight, but either they didn't do it last night or I slept through the commotion. Either way it's great to be up early, no tiredness or hangover, to start 2017 as healthy as possible. I'm sitting in my favourite chair by the Christmas tree, drinking a green smoothie waiting for the sun to rise. Beautiful.

Have a great day everyone.

Thanks Up Happy New Year!

Woke to a dusting of snow in our Valley.....no walk for me today but I went out for an early morning drive with my camera......beautiful morning. Photography is going to be my New Year, empty nester Hobbie.

I will be traveling over the mountains later this week to see the Grandsons! I can't wait to see them & the drive over is beautiful & plan on getting some good pic on my adventure.

Wishing you all good things in 2017...Happy New Year!

Too right Mariah, 3 weeks tomorrow. It's right back to basics for me, 1 day at a time. Just don't bloody drink and the whole show turns around.

1st exercise in anger management is upon me. Lost my phone yesterday, a smartphone with everything on it. Then the rise on blew up, white smoke everywhere.

So today go and see the mower man in town and gently discuss the 3k I spent on the thing and after using it 4 times it bloody blows up.....

Not the start I was looking for but really who cares, stay sober and all will fall into place.

Let's all kick some goals this year, so this time next year, we're all on a good wicket!

Cricket on every night here now, that's a real god send for me...

Hope all are well...........

Sounds good to me Obo- I'm very glad it's a new year

Met with a sponsor for the first time today. I feel very lucky/blessed- not only is she a great listener and a professional counselor- by she's fun ... the whole sponsor thing made me nervous but I definitely benefited already from this time- so much wisdom and understanding.

Anyway, feeling yucky- just blah and head aches and fatigue . .. I've read that thats normal this early but not very inspiring -

Your drive sounds beautiful Mariah! You'll have to post some of your pics

Stayed up to watch "Sherlock" last night. It such an amazing drama. Such a shame we have to wait a whole year to see it!

Enjoy your journey Mariah. I look forward to seeing your photography blossom this year.

Izzy, I also find that people in recovery generally seem to have a great warmth, wisdom, and humour. I think it's because they (we) have seen the darker side of life and of themselves (ourselves), and can more easily put things in to perspective. Recovery from addiction is definitely character building

On that note I'm committing to another year of character building, the Bargain continues. Onward and upward fellow travellers.

Obos- Sorry to hear about the mower. I hope they are able to fix it! Keep grinding!

Mariah- Here are the guided meditations I do. They vary from 5mins to hours. I really dig these gents. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...333FE227FF8599

UP- Glad you're feeling better! I'm nicotine free today! You providing me with the free patches advice made this possible, so thanks!

Freein- Sounds like you had a great New Years Day! Glad you are starting the year sober too!

Izzy- Any nickname is cool with me!

Happy New Years everyone. Sorry I was MIA most the weekend. I haven't had any nicotine coming up on 60 hours. The first 48 were lame, but it's nice to be reminded what a withdrawal feels like. It's not shocking, but the same behaviors and justifications role into my head as to why I should vape like they did when I tried to quit drinking/using.

I'm thankful today, I am sober. Soon I'll be over this nicotine business and my only drug will be caffeine. 2017 is shaping up to be a great year. All I had to do was get out of my own way, own the **** that kept me running, and muster the courage to work towards change. It's rough, but it's fair.

Thanks Free

Good job on being smoke free Up & Noolan!! That is an accomplishment to be proud of!

We are having some good snow here....rare for us to get more than a bit that usually doesn't last long but woke to a winter wonderland & expecting more through the night. Fortunately I am only a few minutes from work as I heard it was not pretty on the roads this am. Neighbors new truck was hit parked out front. I built a snowman in the courtyard at the community today for the peeps to enjoy

Started reading the language of letting go again......daily affirmations & also an activity each day. i realize how important it is for me to learn the practice of acceptance if I'm going to be successful with sobriety....also learning mindfulness & to just plain relax. Tired and hurting quit a bit tonight in feet, hands & legs. Going for a hot soak in the tub & make it an early night.

Onward into 2017!!

How's everyone doing?

I've just finished some relaxation/breathing exercise. Read from the Language of letting Go & snuggled up with the cat. Snowed steady all day & still snowing tonight. I'm a bit sore from the snowman work yesterday which is sad. It was appreciated though & that made my day. It's the little things!

Have a good Wednesday All!

To be totally honest, I'm sad and depressed.

I won't drink or use over it. Also, totally nicotine free ... except for the second hand smoke I get around here.

Not really, unless you have a magic wand.

Part is ... bad luck? ... a lot is stuff I don't have control over. Playing phone tag with the mental health intake to get in to see someone and then the insurance playing games to get to see a specialist about my back.
Also, loneliness that the season isn't helping.
