I've been in America for 5 weeks odd now, and have been ill Mira.
I also have severe allergies, and a lot of the food (in restaurants etc) is out of the question for me. I have tried, but it's very very hard to find anything I can eat. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it is true nonetheless.
Being in hotels makes it hard to prepare food, but we do it anyway....unless I eat food I have made, it is risky.

You will feel better faster if you get some nutrients and vitamins into you. I had to force myself to eat during that part of my recovery. I have gained a lot of weight because I was eating a lot of candy and drinking energy drinks. I am going to start exercising today. Exercise will help you feel better sooner as well.

Checking in for 24 hours. Congrats to the milestoners, one and all ! Its a very long journey that we are on, life long. I am gradually learning that life is a constant cycle of ups and downs. So, if you are down, be patient with yourself and others as it will eventually alleviate and if you are up, be grateful ! AS well, the peaks and troughs seem to be much smaller and smoother as one gains longer sobriety.

Another 24 hours of serenity, loving kindness and sobriety pls ! Its 8:38am here !

Hey Suze: You didn't let anyone down. You just fell ill. And you're going to be very happy with Nick even though it means moving to the U.S., where the political situation is so controversial. Your engagement to Nick has made me very, very, very happy!. Maybe you two can come up here sometime and teach our kids how to play the didgeridoo and whirl the bull roarer.

"God made the world round so we would never be able to see too far down the road" Isaac Dinesen

If we could see into the future, we'd save ourselves from more than a few dead ends and stumped toes. Just a quick peak is all we need. Then we could make mistake proof judgments about what's worth working at and worrying about. We would not have to stretch and strain so much because we'd already know what was going to work out and what wasn't.

Ah, but there's the rub. Nothing of value comes to be without stretching and straining. It is not knowing that keeps us going and growing. It's the very uncertainty of the search, the challenge flung in the face of doubt that builds character and integrity. The patience we bring to the process is what builds self esteem.

An easier life is not always a better life. Fat cats have little muscle but a muscle is what gets us down the road. The fact that we are left to our own devices, our own path finding, means that we are free to create our own fortress.

A thoroughly mapped out predictable life would not be very lively.

Hello my little love bugs xoxo. Asking for 24 more please. Growing and learning One day at a time.

Try a baked potato! How about a bacon and cheese sandwich (with Canadian bacon), lima beans, red cabbage, peanut butter (my sister called it "survival paste") celery, artichokes (once had artichoke hearts stuffed wth crabmeat at Amboise, Fr. back in '57. Never forgotten it) , spinach, fresh squeezed orange juice, watermelon, avocado pear, Harvard beets (had to say that). I once squirted milk straight into a cat (black) from a cow. Maybe Nick could do that. Would you like a cow as a wedding present? You've already got a Goat.

Fondly,

Bill.

Good evening,

5 days off---hooray!

I am feeling very run down, and my blood pressure is up. Doctor is concerned. Me too. More reasons to stay sober. With the holidays coming up, I am going to stay focused on health and happiness.

I can't wait until I have a lot of sober time and feel good again. Maybe it will be sooner than I think! Work stress has been hard on me, and I will be off a lot over the next month . I have a lot of physical work to do getting my house painted and moving my stuff..so maybe I will be brand new very soon.

Have a great night or day

Don't worry. I'm giving our grandchildren a didg for Xmas with a DVD about how to play it. I hope it shakes up the school they attend where they have the kids playing parts of Beethoven symphonies on cellos, violins and clarinets. The DVD also has photos of dark skinned bushmen with hair all askew, real out back guys with weird unworldly expressions. We're going to shake things up in Minneapolis this Xmas.
W

That's all for tonight, Mate? (Why do the Aussies call each other "mate"? Does it mean what it means in the U.S.A.?)
