I stayed in a motel in Blue Earth, Minnesota, iced down a six pack in the bathroom sink, and watched the movie on cable. For a grad student that was high livin'. Weird memories I guess.

Welcome, Mish. It's good to see you!

Best of luck in your travels, MITA. When I go through airports my heart goes out to the business travelers. That would be a tough life. Not sure I could do it.

Day 8 and feeling good. Stay strong and sober everyone.
Congrats on 8 days Pelagic! Yeah, Chris Farley was awesome. It's too bad he died. Addiction kills so many good people.

Euphoric recall sucks! It's gotten me more times than I can count. That LIE that it will ever be fun again. LIES! Pure lies! It hasn't been fun in years! Possibly decades! Fortunately my "recall" is starting to remember how much it sucks! But I definitely relate to certain music triggering the euphoric recall. Enjoy your nap and check in later if you need to!

Naps....also amazing.

Home from my business trip...sober all week and feeling so much better. I can't seem to stop drinking water. My body screaming for help I think, so I'm listening. Good food, lots of water and sleep.

MITA - I was noticing in my cold sobriety that airport bars are kind of sad pathetic places. Travelers, lonely, getting their fix of cheesy airport style drinks. All I could think was....you know that cheap wine is going to give you a miserable headache in the morning. That chair is uncomfortable and the atmosphere stench. Why are we here....other than alcohol? Oh yeah...that is the only reason.

Hi Mish!!!
Have a great day Lillian and I'm so glad you are feeling better after a full week sober!

Wow, two hours I slept! Guess I needed that....I didn't make it to the gym yet, tho. Thinking of putting yoga back into my routine. And if I'm gonna do this recital, I'd better pick a song! Yikes! My anxiety skyrockets just thinking about it ~ could be a trigger....hmmmm....better be careful!

Hello up there to the left and right world. Well as a colonist (no comment on politics) I think I am sick of hearing 'President ELECT Trump'. I bet HE does not get woken up every morning hearing our names to the nth degree. A hot one here today, mates. A day firstly to remain sober. Hot day- well a man needs a cold, cold beer for a hard day's work. Come to think of it - it was a hot day- a man needs a cold, cold beer and screw the work. Have a good morniafterveninight. PJ

I'm having some Sleepytime Tea ~ hoping that nap won't keep me up late...

Looking up songs to learn for beginners....just need practice, right?? Maybe I'll add some to my iPod & go to the gym tomorrow....I figure if I made it through speech class last summer (YUCK!) then I can do this. (Only I relied on alcohol to get through that class!)

Speech class purp? Music is a great exercise thingy. Just started up strength/flexibility gym under adult supervision 'cos of burns, muscle damage stuff. The music helps a great deal.

Good morning everyone. Woke up to snow here....finally. I'm actually one of those weird people who like snow. I guess I'm lucky that I live where I do.
I am really looking forward to the end of today and the start of two days off. I have no plans and that's just fine by me.
Happy Sunday to you all. I will not drink today - no matter what. ❤️❤️

Hi S14- happy for you. I saw snow about 30 years ago. . Opposite here- nearly 100 in American. A few went to the beach (in recovery program)- I politely turned offer down. Firstly- burns plus sunburn equals me being very stupid- even with cream, hats etc. Second- go to the beach- probably the most popular here- with pubs, bistros, rest's, hotels etc- nope- I know I would not drink but I would feel very awful. Third go to the beach with a bunch of people in early recovery? Nope. So stayed quiet, drank heaps of water and watched boring doco's, shared here and did a bit of study. Bit of a non day- but I remind myself considering where I was a year ago (about 5 minutes from said beach- actually number 4) and how unwell I was- a good day- I did not drink. Hope all are ok and working on your not drink plans for your holiday season.
