Good morning everyone, and a good one for me as have cracked 14 days

Clearing the balconies proved a bigger job than anticipated. Still at it this morning, for workmen tomorrow. It helped in a way, as has kept me distracted and inspired me to organise the inside as well. Parallels my own experience of working outside/inside to achieve lasting sobriety. Deeep!

Just watched a young mother being interviewed about depression and motherhood, and wanted to give high five to Miramira and Sunflower. Stopping drinking and caring for kids ain't easy, so big hugs to you both.

Believe Dee Miramira when he says that your son will only hold fond and loving memories of you now that you are getting sober. The more we present as sober, the more people lay down memories of us being sober.

As an adult child of an alcoholic I can only say that to see my father getting sober (he's dead now, alcohol, stroke) would have seen all of my dreams come true.

Alcohol destroyed my father, hence my family, and by you both (Sunflower, too) getting sober you have given your children the best gift of their life. Kids like seeing you try, as when young they have not been corrupted by judgementalism and scepticism.

Because I have to get these balconies done, cannot address all of your posts outside of saying that all of us seem to have a really positive mindset irrespective of the setbacks. Nobenders live!

Too good on the wedding Blackbird, and likewise Illuminate. Funny when sober to observe drinking behaviour in others. God, where does that place me! Bacchus on Acid .

Sending all of my love and support to each and every one of you, and I ain't leaving either Optimist4Ever.

Now, to the balconies sober. Yay, this time I'm not thinking about jumping

Welcome Jazzfish, Kaily and Tomls

I was feeling so positive that I wouldn't drink this weekend made a plan of things to do but failed and did nothing.
I interested in AVRT but my AV is playing havoc plus loneliness and lack of support.
I am doing the AVRT and I find it very empowering. I've tried a myriad of things also and although I'm not having a barrel of laughs it seems to be working. Drinking is just not an option full stop, no matter what. Day 2 has been the only time I really contemplated it and being on here was what helped me then. Now on day 6. Not drinking doesn't make everything all peaches and cream all of a sudden but I know it's the right thing. All of us on here know that it's the right thing for us but the beasts within us will find ways of convincing us otherwise anyway they can unless we recognise it when it comes and stand ip in the face of it and show it who's boss!! You can do it! The time is NOW!

Good day all... I had another decent day. More cleaning ... This time a spare room and closet.

Picked up some fresh seafood earlier for dinner .. Which I'm cooking for my kids.

All this sober!

Day 17 ain't bad.

May I please be a part of the November 2016 class? I just joined in on SR yesterday. Yesterday was my start date but then I had one beer around noon and dumped the other one out that I had. I'm just starting on my journey but what a great site.

Hi guys! Back on day one for what is probably the hundredth time... early recovery is always so hard. I know my family friends and boyfriend are being supportive to me but I still feel guilty. Back to being sick/throwing up/ having panic attacks/sweats and shakes again. I was drinking like crazy to deal with the stress of my job and other things happening in my life. why can't I have a better way to cope? how do I find it? So tired of always ending up back in the stages of withdrawal. Can I be a member of the November 2016 class?

Scary stuff getting sober. Does not have to be. SR is good because it is safe. Real stories of real people in real time. Not some brilliant mystic from 5 million years ago with perfect advice. I am flawed. Being around other flawed people getting better, trying to be good and sober people is a real support.

I have nearly gone out for alcohol several times this evening, even now at nearly midnight I am tempted.
My addiction is way out of control.

Your're IN Maggie.

Hi Corpone, long time no see. Saw your avatar and so glad to have you in Class. We'll just keep backing each other up through the highs and the lows, and eventually we'll get there. I'm back following relapse Corpone so don't feel alone in it.

Hi to MidnightRider, who as I just noticed is caring for kids too. I take my hat off to you ladies. My kids have grown, but I certainly haven't forgotten the trials and tribulations

Me doing organisational stuff around the house too Casey, it's actually quite rewarding, and I HAVE read "The Politics of Housework"

A Casey Salute to us all

Kaily, please don't. Since it is late, can you just go to bed? Or drinking a big glass of water sometimes helps me. Maybe read a book until you fall asleep?

I've done the same Kailey......going out late at night to try and buy more alcohol. So glad that you resisted, and even if your resistance failed you are actually practicing how to do it better next time. Hope there is no next time, just saying .....it's all about learning.

We are ALL out of control drinkers Kailey, join the throng and we'll get it right eventually.

Nearing the end of day 7. I have to admit I have been feeling a lot of emotions today, mostly frustrated and annoyed. I hope it will get better

Congrats on 7 days rah and yes, feeling those feelings coming up myself. It's supposed to be healthy

Couldn't get a feelin' up when drinking, blocked them all out. Won't it be good when we start to feel the positive feelings, not just the negatives, anger, fear, etc.

Oh well, from little things big things grow.

It will get better rah. And I ain't wasting no more time either MidnightRider.

Hi Maggie!

Kaily can you have some chocolate perhaps? Bubble bath and ice cream are my go-to if I can get away from my three little crazies!!

Happy to be winding down day 5!
