Good morning all, and Hi Elfie
Woke up to a message from a friend saying he was in a real bind and needed my help whenever I woke up. I'm feeling thankful that I can be there for my loved ones when they need some help.

I hope you all have a great Monday! I find that sometimes they really are good days, despite the bad rap that they have haha ttylater

Today has been insanely busy, but productive. I too am glad to wake up sober - not sure how I managed to keep it together before - oh yes, I wasn't really, just keeping up a mask of doing so

Hey all, sheesh I had no mojo at work today, it was busy but I just had to push through instead of my usual excited to cut hair mood, luckily I made it through but I just hate that feeling, Teaorcoffee, amazing how we convinced ourselves that we were being productive while drinking, the lies our AV tells us is crazy! Suzyq, did everything go ok with your friend? I hate this time change, still not used to it and defo not liking the short days, ho hum

Suzyq
I actually received a similar message from a family member who was struggling in almost the same way I was about a month ago. It felt great to be able to help someone.

Exactly, helping others is what it's all about! It's even better when we are able to take care of our own self too. Everything is ok with my friend. He had to leave town unexpectedly and needed someone to stop by and check on his pets today. It was my pleasure!

I want to say thank you to all of you for being here to check in with every day! I look forward to reading your posts and it encourages me more than I thought initially.

Brewing green tea tonight and winding down. I am really starting to enjoy this nightly ritual. Have any of you also found new ways to wind down for bed now that we're not just passing out?

Goodnight friends! zzzzz

I think I need to Suzy - my sleep pattern is off again and that can make it difficult.
Might try the tea - it'll pass, it always does. Still much better than when I was drinking.

I hate waking up with a sore throat! But drinking hot chocolate helps, too, with the winding down. I'm also reading alot more again, like I did as a kid before alcohol.

Hello friends, I've been doing self hypnosis to wind down but now I'm wondering if it's making my sleep worse? I'm nice and relaxed during it but I think when the guy counts me out of it,it's making me too awake, I really don't know, maybe I'll pick a different time to do it,ordered sweaters for my daughters through a catalog and they got here yesterday, huge dissapointment! Ugly. com in real life, one is red with white trim and I tried it on and it looks like a Santa coat hahaha, my daughter's gonna be mad but me and hubs got a good laugh out of it! I slept horribly up and down all night, work should be interesting, wishing everyone a peaceful AF Day

Amen, teaorcoffee, the sleep is still much better than when I was drinking. For the last few months of my drinking the sleep was really bad actually. Last night was the first night I've fallen asleep without melatonin since I sobered up. Maybe it was the chamomile... I'll take the progress!

Beelover, does tea give you sore throat the next morning? That's a shame. Do you actually love bees btw? My sister and her husband do some beekeeping.

Winslow, the Santa coat sweater should make for a memorable Christmas gift haha

Have a wonderful Tuesday all!

Just checking in. 58 days here. I love to see the number go up on the iPhone app I use. I feel so tired and lazy, but the good thing is I rarely have cravings. I've been reading about lots of people feeling so energized after quitting but not me. And all my bloodwork/ vitamin levels are fine too. Oh well, at least I'm alcohol free.

Nice to see you again Oct. I go up and down with energy. I know that for me I need to use energy to gain energy, so the more active I am the better.

Suzyq, I do love bees! I became a fan when I started using Burt's Bees a few yrs ago. And no, tea didn't cause my sore throat, lol. I love sweet tea, as a matter of fact. But when the weather gets cold I get a taste for hot chocolate. Lactose free, of course! 😀

Hello October, congratulations on making it to 58 days! I've been feeling really good for the past several days then had another sluggish day today... Frustrating, isn't it?

Also I just had the worst mood swing this afternoon... it really makes me wonder about myself when my positive thinking just goes out the window like that.

I do find that when I take the best care of my physical health, I feel better overall, as teaorcoffee mentioned.

Day 53 coming to an end. Day off from work so slept in. Ran a few errands, took another two hour nap, but finally did another p90x workout, shoulders&arms. Just finished watching Love&Mercy which is about Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys...good movie. Now time to read or play a video game for a few hours. Another day completed...sober.

Morning friends, Congrats on 53 days Hewson I think I'm gonna start doing the Tae-bo DVD I have in the afternoon, you've inspired me with your p90x(which always reminds me of that Bruno Mars song haha) I noticed yesterday that if I'm not watching little Louie I have a lot of free time.. I don't think it's good to just sit around browsing and watching tv, I do get walks for exercise but Tae-bo is a nice step up,plus it makes me feel like a strong person got some mixed nuts to put in my oatmeal in the morning and all that's left in the can is peanuts and I don't like peanuts... unless they're on a hot fudge sundae or in a Snickers bar haha, wishing everyone a great, productive Booze Free day
