That is so sad! We have much to be grateful for at this stage of recovery.

I found a new evening ritual last night. Hot tea! I brewed some echinacea tea last night and it helped me feel very relaxed. It was very easy to drift off into light meditation. I felt so close to my Creator and very loved. I think I'll make this a regular thing.

I hope everyone is well today! I am thankful for my new Sober Recovery friends.

Winslow, I haven't thought about that, when you say it keeps the addiction alive. It makes complete sense. Now the question is on how to time quitting... Is now too soon? I've only been sober for 44 days. You?

I get what you're saying Winslow, but also think you may be right in thinking to handle one thing at a time.
Suzy, only you can say, but I'm guessing from what happened yesterday that it might be a bit too much all at once. I reckon the vape thing is worth a go though.

I would highly recommend massage therapy as a way to calm and relax you and keep yourself on an even keel to keep the urges away. I got a two hour one today, and it was awesome! Now I'm thinking of trying out aromatherapy to help keep my evenings nice and relaxed so I can go to sleep better.

I will hit 50 on Thursday
That's cool - this week is a short work week for me but seems to lasting forever.
It has been something to hold onto when there were temptations in my path.

Now massage - that is a good idea

I've been facing so much temptation too this week. I've seriously been thinking about drinking. I've been reading a book called blackout. It reminds me so much of myself. And honestly, it's a great reminder of where I don't want to go again.

It seems that a lot of us are struggling a bit at the moment - wonder if it has anything to do with winter being upon us and also all the stores ramping up for xmas.

I think the winter does have a big effect on our humour. You can buy special lamps which replace natural sunlight or so they say.

Massages are wonderful! Got me some lavender and rosemary body oil to help get me relaxed in the evenings, too. Smells really good! Been reading alot again, too. All this helps me to keep the Beer Bitch away after work!

Today wasn't a good day here. I found my sweet little girl cat passed away this morning in my front yard. She was my best little friend. I gave her a heartfelt burial in the back yard, which was her favorite place to be. She will be with me always <3 <3

I've had a cold and went to the liquor store for medicine so I could breathe. Now tomorrow will be 1 day sober instead or nearly 50.

And the riddle is to find out what I must learn from these hardships.

God bless you all

Thanks Winslow. She was only middle-aged, very healthy. 7 years old. I've had her since she was a kitten. I new something was off last night when it was cold and she wouldn't come when I called...

The only thing I can come up with is that she was hit by a car... but she never goes into the front yard. She was laying in my front yard with rigor mortis, when I found her. But I could see no injury. My poor baby :'(

Sophie was her name. She deserves most of the credit for the sobriety I've found this year. Now she lays in my back yard. And I can still sit and speak with her every day. Tomorrow will be my day 1 sober again... I'm sorry you guys
