Class of October 2016 Support Thread Part 2
I use a very simple recipe, just cocoa, sugar, and milk. But it's the extras that I put in that make it great. I use different flavored marshmallows, whip cream, and sprinkles!! Sometimes I get crazy and put spices in too. How do you make yours?
I use cacao milk and sugar. Whipped cream is a great idea. ))
I bought some Starbucks double chocolate packets of hot chocolate, it was an emergency craving buster that a friend shared with me, the milk has the amino acids and the chocolate is a great dopamine boost so we're on track with that one
Interesting, I had no idea this nightly treat was actually keeping me from having cravings. Guess it's time to get back into my hot chocolate habit! I bought some candy corn flavored marshmallows today, it's going to be a good night lol

Congrats to everyone who's still keeping strong.
Day 13 coming to a close here. Took the last of the librium last night, just 5mg. They started me with 120mg a week before that, so its been a quick detox/taper, but so far, so good. Anxiety and depression through the roof, but that's mostly due to having to find a new job pronto. At least it should be easier sober and not zombiefied with benzodiazepines. Got a bunch of CV's, some decent clothes, shaved off the hobo beard, gonna hit the temp agencies tomorrow. Couldn't afford a haircut tho. I'm literally down to my last 5 quid. At least there'll be one last paycheck from my last job coming in a day or two; unless the ex-boss lied, in which case I'll be homeless in days.
Man, facing the consequences of my drunkenness sober sucks. I get how some people never stop. Wish me luck, I'm gonna need it.

Day 18 in the books! This day is probably the most difficult and the one I'm most proud of so far. On Friday I decided that I would be drinking today, I even posted about it hoping someone would stop me. Little did I know i was the one that needed to stop myself. Instead I bought a bone for my dogs, hung out with my baby girl, and watched my favorite shows. My daughter and I had a relaxed day, it was amazing. She smiled and giggled so much today. Im glad I chose her over alcohol today and tomorrow will be the same. I'm loving my life right now

Hi.
I'd like to join this group.
I've been lurking since day one when i felt like i was going to die.
I am on day 7 now and have felt absolutely fine since day 4.
Those first 3 days were a misery.
I went cold turkey with a very slight taper....down to 10 cans last wednesday then nothing....i'm not sure i'd be doing that again.
This is about the 6th attempt....they usually last between 3 and 6 months before i get clawed back in but after some 25 years of drinking, i think this is the first time I have really looked into the facts and actually started taking in information from wherever i can get it.
This site is a wonderful resource and just reading it daily has inspired me.
Thank you all very much and good luck to you all....
I'm off for my first post alcohol jog...let's see how far i can get..

Welcome Junoluna - this is a great group and it's great to have you here
Congrats to everybody celebrating a milestone today.
I hope things will start looking up Space Mandrill
To anyone struggling I say - make a plan. You can't be half hearted in this fight.
You have to be totally committed.
It's not something you can dip in or out...or treat as something you'll worry about when you face alcohol or cravings again.
If your forearmed and ready, you stand a much better chance of staying sober - no matter what happens.
make a plan - build a support network, make those changes you need to make that reflect your desire to stay sober, and start that new chapter
