BBG- I find routine to be good. A behavioural barometer for me to measure up. If I fall behind on stuff like watering a plant, washing dishes, paying a bill etc- it can mean I am anxious and need to go back to basics- HALTS. Then get support- else a potential for relapse.

Morning everyone. I am still here and still struggling. Not sure why I can't break the cycle this time. Love you all.

S14- struggling sucks. Here with you. Not alone- never that. P erhaps a really bad joke might help? Well, here goes..
? Did you hear about the alcoholic agnostic dyslexic?
A: He stayed up all night drinking wondering if there really isa dog. (boom-boom).
Pouring with rain here. 0152 in the morn. Hard to sleep here sometimes with all the crazies- their behaviours change as often as the smear tactics in your Presidential competition. Stay safe, sober and (mostly) sane (), PJ

Morning everyone. Day 134 here. Shocks me sometimes. Back to reality. My daughter was in a car accident while I was gone. She's a little banged up but not as bad as her car. Have to take care of her and things today. Plus, she's kind of a slob, my house needs serious help. Lol. Have a lot to do today before going back to work tomorrow. Love you all, you're in my prayers, Samantha.

Been there, done that Sam. My last relapse wasn't a bender. Just daily drinking without even gettin' tipsy! But for some reason I just couldn't stop.

It took determination and a strong will on my part. I'm at 17 days now.

You can do it Sam! You've done it before. Do it again!!!

Checking in this afternoon. I have drank for the past four days and today I woke up feeling sad and shaky and sick. My head is full of negative self talk and I can't stand the person I have allowed myself to become again. But enough. Someone pretty special reminded me today that I have worth, I am lovable and I deserve forgiveness. Alcohol really messes with your mind....not a news flash I know. In the span of four days I have become so depressed...nothing remotely like the Samantha I was (and will be again)

I am on my way home now with some French Toast tea and some hot soup. I'm going to spend the afternoon taking care of myself and posting here if I need help.

Thanks for being here. I am lucky to know each of you and I am so proud of all of us for kicking the disease of alcoholism in the behind every single day. ❤️❤️

Thanks for the joke PJ and also for the reminder that we are not alone....alcohol has the ability to make you feel like your the loneliest person on the planet.

Haha! I love being good birth control for my fellow March misfits.

Days can be long and the years short. We all know that.

I am loving the early toddler stage though....minus sleep issues. And the inability to communicate well lol.

And the temper tantrums! Don't know about you, but my littlest is definitely in the early terrible 2's stage. My older daughter was not like this so it is a new challenge for me!

Hi everyone, late check in for me on Day 13. Been a really busy Monday so far. Having some cravings today, but trying to work through them. Playing the tape through and all of that.

Sam, we love you and are here for you. Hugs!

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Starting to feel a little better. I've kept busy this afternoon with house cleaning and laundry - funny how those things stop when I'm drinking. Anyways now I am going to play a mindless computer game for a while and then walk Charlie (another thing that stops when I'm drinking) I will be sticking close to here tonight Love you guys!!

Sam, the feelings of loneliness. Got me feeling, then thinking about that. For whatever reason I thought of a wolf in the wild (misunderstood thru history).
That gut wrenching cry in the still of night. Full of yearning- almost a statement. Always searching on the edges of 'acceptable' behaviour- wanton creatures of evil, deceit and destruction. Whereas in reality wolves are social animals who fiercely protect their own. They are very smart and find strength when working in numbers. Pretty much all wolves want is to survive, be left alone and get on with life with their own. Could be me I am talking about.
I will not waste valuable now time offering sage advice- past stay safe, talk and remember HALTS. One thing I do know- the only real time I have is right here, right now. By the time you read this- it is a collection of words, a memory recorded in the past. So Sam- right here you are, right now you are. The hard truth about a simple concept is being able to stop the dreadful cycle. Right here, right now. You want to- otherwise why even bother being here, now?
Do you remember the footprints story? About the person walking their journey who knew god was always with them because of the other set of footprints in the sand? That he cried out into the loneliness after only their footprints were left, asking god why they were left alone. Comes the bloody obvious answer- 'you were struggling, so I carried you'. Well, Sam- perhaps this is you thinking in the same way- just remember the answer, a good place to start from.

NOT , with you- PJ.

One of the quotes I remember from first joining this site.....(I believe a member named InControl15) said: "Today sucks, tomorrow will suck. But tomorrow will suck more if you drink today."
