One Year and Under Club Part 56
Dreams do mean something, the trick to me is when to stop thinking. A dream- vivid, real and ugly about alcohol. Well go figure. Very aware Xmas is gaining momentum and the importance to remain in recovery, safe and reinvent it anew- without family.
Hello Old Tomato!
I hope all is well with you!
I would assume that alcohol probably messes up our REM sleep cycles. I always went to bed drunk. REM sleep is where our vivid dreaming occurs, I believe. It would not be surprising to both be having more vivid dreams, as well as actually remembering them sober . I do remember having a lot of crazy dreams early on, especially a few drinking dreams. My AV was working 24/7 in those early days.
Have a good day all!

I rarely remember my dreams. I used to get those drinking dreams pretty frequently when my body was recovering from daily drinking. They still creep up from time to time but not nearly as bad.
Good to see you stargazer.

A good reminder, PJ - major holidays are also major times to protect our sobriety.
Living at the OFH, if I go to the dining room I am exposed to alcohol. Into the early part of my second year sober that still bothered me. It is finally reaching the point where I barely notice. Hallelujahs!

Phoenix I hate those drinking dreams, I still get the occasional one. I guess because alcohol was ( and I guess still is, because being here writing about not drinking still keeps it in my mind) such a massive part of most of my life thoughys, memories and images of it are in my psyche.
Kopfan I dream of all sorts! Have the most amazing dreams that feel like they have lasted all night!
Hi OT, excuse Phoenix, he is being saucy! ( keep up people!)

Hey all, today I was driving to work listening to the radio and they were talking about if you could have anything in the world you wanted for Christmas what would it be? I mean anything, I thought for a bit and thought"everlasting sobriety" it took me by surprise that I thought of that first thing cuz it's something I absolutely can have if I put in the work and effort, anyway just thought I'd share
Great news Drake! That first month is a bear.
I love your thoughts of everlasting sobriety as a Christmas gift to yourself Winslow! Being sober and involved with my family on a daily basis is indeed the best gift of all.

Congrats on a month Drake hello to all, was thinking that I miss snow living in Vegas we have 2 seasons hot and not hot, gets kind of monotonous and boring, there's no out with the old in with the new with the seasons, when I lived in Utah it made me appreciate each new weather change, meh,if it snowed I'd soon get sick of it,thinking of snow is like thinking of alcohol,,, the brain only remembers the good stuff haha, hope everyone enjoys their day
Thankfully now, I know the absurdity of this thought. My AV never reminds me of the following day, head throbbing, hungover, and hating life. Mercifully, those dreams of being a social drinker have been swept out of my mind, hopefully forever.
Have a great day all!
