Three years ago I REALLY recognized I needed to stop drinking. I couldn't string together more than a week sober. I stumbled upon this site, explored AA, and read up on everything I could. I still couldn't commit even after two years. But I kept on trying.

My mistake on my first solid attempt was this statement "I will never drink again!!" Hours after making that statement I drank again. So remembering the "one day at a time" rule, I have had my longest run of sobriety. Today, I will not drink. Just for today.

Thank you, Jennifer, Countrygirl, wherever you are. On September 14, 2015 I read your post. "Just for today" was formally adopted by me and has remained so even more true to this very day.

Thank you my friends. We walk together.
Congratulations!

Erfra, don't drink honey. There isn't a single emotion, issue or problem that drinking won't make worse.

Toots my sweet, super comgrats on 3.5 years!!!!!

Arbor, congrats on a year and welcome to the "overs!"

Wehav here, I'm in for another 24 hours!!

I just went out to have a look at the moon. Remember how beautiful the world is when you are sober, and this difficult time will pass.

Thank you thank you thank you guys I felt all your positive vibes though the time and space (yes I know I'm weird) and I went for a walk with my youngest grand daughter (3 months) and I buy her, her first rice cereal.

You're not weird at all erfra my love, that's how this works....I feel everyone as well. So glad you went for that walk, and how sweet that your granddaughter had her first ice cream with you.
