Checking in tonight. Going for another 24 hours at 5:17p CST.
Congratulations to Yophilly1970, aussieblue, ElleDee, Ooona, and Hypernova on reaching new milestones today! To celebrate your marvelous accomplishments, today we have a Upside Down Chocolate Trail-Mix Cake*! Keep up the great work!
*it's not a cake roll, but I couldn't resist VikingGF's challenge. I am curious what kind of ice cream we'll get tonight. Maybe a trail mix sundae?

Congrats to all the fantastic milestoners ! Super well done to one and all ! At my last AA meeting, an old timer came back through the doors. I had not seen him for a year and thought he had switched rooms. It turned out he had relapsed. Badly. The last 12 months had been a horrible downward spiral. He had let his practice slip away and allowed misery open the door to alcohol once more. Thankfully, he has managed to come back to the rooms. Keep moving forward all, one little step at a time. Always be mindful of your feelings !
Another 24 hours of patience, gratitude and sobriety pls ! Its 8:51am here !

Hi,
We went to El Yunque Rainforest today, visited by car. Of course there are many trails to hike inland, for those who are interested. Even by car, and stopping, what a beautiful place!!
I'm here to check in for the next 24, I'm very grateful to my HP , AA, & you all on SR. Bobbi

Sad day today as our family cat had to be put to sleep this morning.
She was 17 or so and had kidney failure so it was time to do the kindest thing but it's always heartbreaking..
My 2 sons are 8 & 6 years old and they are both devastated, we've all been in tears most of the afternoon, having to tell them both and see their faces when I explained was awful.
We decorated a cardboard box with bright colours and stars and put her in with a few "treasures" that the boys wanted to put with her to keep her safe and some pictures of us all and our other pets so she wouldn't be lonely...
All the time we were decorating the box my youngest son kept going back to her (I'd laid her on a blanket on the bed) and stroking her, talking and comforting her, being really loving even though he understood she was dead. When I asked if he was ok he said "Yes, I'm just making sure she doesn't get scared".
Now I'm in tears again...
Sorry for the long post everyone, it's a lot of fuss over a cat you good folks never even met.
Sleep tight little girl, we miss you x
