Itchy - Good luck with your procedures.

Mags - It takes a while to get used to new roles and responsibilities. I'm glad you're feeling a bit more comfortable though.

Andy - Your job sounds like an adventure.

Carlos - Hello my friend!

I'm up early preparing for an interview that I will have at some point over the next couple of weeks. I'm trying to categorize my job experiences in terms of behavioral interview questions that have become so popular. I want to prepare as best as I can.

How this fits into sobriety for me is that I'm living in the solution. As an alcoholic my tendency is to complain that it's unjust that I even have to be interviewed for a job that I've practically been doing for the last year and taught two people in the role that I want how to do. Haha, the humility I've developed in recovery has helped me see that there's a lot more that goes into the role I'm applying for than the types of skill sets required for the one I'm currently in & that I need to explain very articulately why I can move to the next level if I'm going to beat other candidates. I need to think it through so I use my best examples and explain them clearly. There's an inherent peace and serenity in knowing I tried my best.

I hope you all have a great day!

glee ~ obviously I don't know what you do. But the way you express yourself, and the way you commit yourself to the task at hand is admirable.

And I love hearing how recovery is working in your life ~ I feel the same way.
Living in the solution is the most peaceful place I have ever known.

Wishing you all of the very best with this....

Hi O's,

Oh Glee, we have talked/speculated dozens of times on how differently we handle life in recovery vs active addiction. Love the plan - preparedness with a healthy does of outcome acceptance - sprinkled with humility. Goog stuff and my best!

Well, Toots, perhaps we will be passing ships...then again, one never knows? I've not finalized my reverse snowbird dates yet, Sooo, we should touch base. Would love to hook up...I mean meet. I'll bet there might be Joy in/at that possibility.

Speaking of a meet - rumor has it that the Itch Man and yours truly will finally meet up this eve....so looking forward to that!

Aww, thanks everyone. I work in a call center at a large financial company. I work with new hires on efficiently using our systems to process transactions for participants in employer-sponsored retirement plans (401k, 401a, 403b, 457). I'm applying for a manager position.

Carlos - I'm so excited to hear about your meet ups!

Glee, good luck - I'll be thinking of you!

Carlos, always good to hear from you. And I get the Joy reference . I'm a bit jealous about the meet ups - I so much enjoyed that with Toots and Gilmer. Hoping for more ...

Hi everyone, not been on for a couple of days, lots going on.
I got some sad news I had been expecting, a friend passed away.
Strangest thing though, I was sat in the most beautiful graveyard thinking peaceful thoughts, my daughter and my dog by my side and then my phone rang with my poorly friends contact showing. His son was calling me and sounded just like my friend, we cried over the phone together. The setting, the support available to me, speaking to his son who sounded just like him and hearing that he held his hand as he left us.
News of a death could hardly have been better (it feels odd to write this, but it's how it was).
Cherish today and all those you love.
xx

Congrats on the sober time Toots! As I say frequently, you folks with a big chunk of sober time are a huge inspiration for me!
Good luck Glee! It can be frustrating having to apply for a job that you already basically do. You have a great mindset heading into the interview process and I hope you end up with the position.

Fartogo, sorry for your loss. I'm glad the situation evolved the way it did for you emotionally.

Florida has survived many hurricanes over the years. Can it survive Carlos and Itchy meeting up? Stay tuned.
