Congrats Caramel!

Every day that you can get further from Day One, it gets a little bit easier.

Have a great day all!

Welcome, Dharma! I hope you find SR as helpful as I have.

Congrats, Caramel

Glee, love how you keep on improving your life and practicing those good things we learn as we become more solidly sober. You are an inspiration.

Hi Babs

Have a good day, Undies!

I don't know what happened to my last post but, I'm doing it over again.
I have been busy cleaning from windows to shampooing the carpet. Ugh.
My sister is coming this week and that gives me the incentive to get things done.
I do have a AA meeting again today and looking forward to it.
Hoping everyone has a wonderful day.
Hugs !
Babs

I'm using the smart goals technique (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely). I picked a diet plan and an exercise plan that came with their own specific rules to follow.
I'm the exact same way. All in or all out, black or white-no shades of gray. I've been like this my whole life tho....and alcohol just followed suit. Makes me wonder in hindsight why I didn't see this whole "I'm going to become an alcoholic thing" coming? I so crave a balanced life and yet I find balance sooooo uncomfortable. I will definitely check out the smart goals technique! Sounds as if it could be helpful! Thanks!

A Big Welcome to the new faces and congrats caramel on 8 weeks!

Thumbs up Wow, I actually believe in myself this time around

Hey everyone. I finally got miserable enough to try recovery again after another 6 year bout of daily using and drinking, my drug of choice was/is definitely MORE, haha. Anyway, I checked myself into rehab/detox for 10 days (that's all my insurance would cover unfortunately) and had one of the most enjoyable and enlightening times I have ever had in rehabs, this was probably my 8th try. All the other times I was convinced I would never be able to maintain anything like long term sobriety. This time though something clicked and I actually believe I CAN do this (today)!!! I've been out for 7 days now and am doing EVERYTHING I can to maintain it and stay busy even though I am still going thru withdrawal from the suboxone I've been taking for the last 15 years daily. Jess wanned to introwdews mahseff to y'all an sai I am gratefell SobrrrRecuverree iz heahh tu hep mee owt. Peace to you all.

Hi Dharma! I see you're in Brighton. Did you go to the Brighton Center? In 2012, I tried to get in but because I wasn't actively using, I qualified only for outpatient services. I know they have a great program and am am rooting for you!
