How about a beautiful poem from Longfellow for today

The sea hath its pearls,
The heaven hath its stars;
But my heart, my heart,
My heart hath its love.

Great are the sea and the heaven;
Yet greater is my heart,
And fairer than pearls and stars
Flashes and beams my love.

Thou little, youthful maiden,
Come unto my great heart;
My heart, and the sea, and the heaven
Are melting away with love!

by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

This is one of my very first poems

Lay next to me by the river as we
Listen to it's song.
Spider Lillie's beneath the trees
Swaying and dancing with the breeze.*
As the Sun rises we can paddle along
We'll follow our dreams with the current of the streams
Let your eyes sparkle with the River blue
As I dream along with you.

Good morning all.

The heat followed me home, beastly everywhere it seems.

I lost two posts so far to a wonky connection. Guess I'll keep this short:

Drinking is dumb. Stay sober. I'll do the same.

Have a great Tuesday!!

Good morning everyone!

Day 3. Wake up call ("baby") at 5:45 this morning. Sorry you were up all night, AK. I remember when my little one started waking up all hours ... was definitely her molars. Hope that's the case with yours too. At least you are sober and not feeling like crap when have to get up though. Hope you can get a little rest later!

Off to the pool later today. Gone are the relaxing pool days. Chasing a 19 month old around is exhausting, but my 6yo really wants to go so I guess I will look at it as my exercise for the day lol.

Wishing you all a wonderful day. Stay sober! I promise I will.

Will not drink today because I'm really enjoying my sobriety.

Morning! Overslept, duh. Too old for late soccer games. We won, had a bench clearing brawl, my son is suspended for a game or two, it was so much fun!

Have a great day!

Day 136.

Back to my house tomorrow. Thank goodness. Though I haven't missed waking up to the loud neighbor kids.

Wishing everyone a safe and sober day. Heading to an AA meeting now.

Hi March Class!!! I am checking in on day 19. Feeling better and better every day!

Kind of a funny little story: Our ice maker is broken in our freezer so I drove down the street to the convenience store to grab a bag of ice. I walked in and the owner saw me.

I don't know if you guys remember but last week (or the week before?) I asked him not to sell me alcohol ever again. I said "I am a recovering alcoholic and I don't trust myself. If I ever come in here to buy alcohol can you please NOT sell it to me?" He said he wouldn't.

So anyway....When he saw me walk in this morning he had a nervous look on his face. The ice is in the back of the store right by the alcohol so I have to walk the same exact route to get the ice down the aisles as I did alcohol.

I got my 20 pound bag of ice and proudly carried it up to the counter. I didn't even LOOK at the alcohol. When I set the ice down to pay for it the owner said "whew!!! I thought you were coming to buy alcohol!" I proudly said, "NOPE! Our ice machine is broken and all I am getting is ice. I am still sober!" He smiled and congratulated me. It felt good. I love being sober. Life is so much easier.

Bobbie: Did you win your soccer game last night? Edit: I just saw that you won! yay! And with a BRAWL! haha

Casey: Congrats on 136 days! You are approaching your record fast! Enjoy your AA meeting.

Sam: I am glad you got some good sleep last night! How does the fitbit tell you how much sleep you got? I move all over the place when I sleep. I am in a constant wrestling match with my pillow. haha. I have like 7 pillow on my bed. How does it calculate?

AppleKat: I hope you get some rest today. Can you take a nap later? (it looks like Sam just asked the same thing. haha) Edit: Thanks for asking about outpatient. I am not doing it anymore because our insurance ran out. I am doing fine though. I am staying active here and with AA and the 12 steps.

MITA: Good luck the sale of your house. That seems stressful! But exciting!!!

Kayak: Hi Kayak!!! That poem you wrote about laying by the river is amazing! I love it!

Pelagic: Morning! Yes, I think it's hot everywhere!!! I am counting down until the fall for sure. Drinking IS dumb!

Ladybug: It sounds like you and Apple have a lot in common with little ones keeping you up at night. Hang in there and try to squeeze in a nap. The relaxing pool days will be here again before you know it. They grow up so fast. Enjoy every single second.

BBG: Good morning!

Everyone else: I hope to see you on here today! 1 hour or 100 years of sobriety...we need you and want you here! (even if you aren't sober but are trying....we still want you!!!)

Good job Kiki!!!

It will be a busy day here and probably won't get to check in or even read much here today. My wee one has a Dr. appointment and getting hubby ready for a trip to Vegas......just as I predicted, a miraculous recovery today! He can't make himself toast but can jump on a plane to Vegas.

Hope you all have a great day!!

I LOVE your ice story Kiki. It really is so much easier this way huh. Drinking is dumb. I hear you on the insurance. I required home nurse visits after my 1st c-section bc the wound opened up - yup - call me shark bite Kat - and the insurance eventually ran out on the visits so my husband had to learn how to take care of the incision which included cleaning and packing it with seaweed gauze. I don't understand how insurance sometimes doesn't cover things we really need in the moment. Or it makes us rise to the occasion I dunno lol.

That happened to my sister. I called her wound the Great Divide. I passed out the first time it was my turn. I got better, but not much.

Oh Bobbie I like the nickname Great Divide much better than shark bite. And good for you for stepping up.

It was....interesting...having both my hubby and my mother staring at my low-cut incision at the same time.

I clearly got pregnancy, baby, and recovery amnesia since I went on to do that two more times.

Bobbieka sounds like a rowdy soccer game
Casy 136 days nice
Kiki I also like going to the liquor store to buy lotto tix and the owner always asks no vodka I say not today and then he says good job drinking is not good for you, funny thing for a liquor store owner to say.
Lake Tahoe is such a beautiful and peaceful place it was great hangin out with my dad watching golf.
