Class of March 2011 Part 25
Thanks for holding my hand guys.
Hope you all have a good weekend.
How are you doing, aussie?
What the heck happened to Lofty? Dude, stay with us..we help!
Busy week with the kiddos and my bro is coming in town for a week (annual visit) from across the country. Hope you're all having a wonderful, sober, March-lovin' week! (No idea what that means.)

((((Aussie)))) I'm heartbroken for you ... I remember being there. Unfortunately, for me, something had to happen that was bad enough that I became ready to set it down. It was a near suicide moment. Once I realized that I would truly either stop drinking or die, I was ready. At AA we call it the "gift of desperation" ... that moment that's the worst of our entire lives but also becomes the best in that it is the catalyst to a new, free life. Once I had that, I was truly ready to be done with alcohol. It felt much like jumping off a cliff with a pack of wolves chasing me ... I was terrified, but I knew that if I stayed, I'd die. Nothing else mattered at that point - not my job, not my pride, not my reputation, nothing. If I didn't get well, I'd die. It was time to jump.
I'm so glad I did. I wish you could crawl inside me and feel how free I feel now, how peaceful, how hopeful. I wish you could see how much it's worth it! YOU are worth it. Yes, it's hard. But you can do hard things. And it does get easier.
If I were counting months, today would be 35 of them. Next month on this date I'll be celebrating 3 years ... wow. So hard to believe! It's almost hard remembering what it was like, kinda like remembering a bad movie. When I was new to sobriety, I couldn't imagine what life would be like without alcohol. I told myself many times, when it was hard and I wanted to drink, that eventually I'd create a new "normal" that would feel just as normal as what I'd done before. And that has happened.
Honestly, I could not have done it without AA (the one thing I SO did NOT want to try). I know that many do, but it was my avenue to sobriety and to the deeper changes that I didn't even know I needed to make. I will continue going as long as I have any choice in the matter, to stay sober, to be a better human being, and to give back.
I am saying a prayer for you, Aussie. Freedom is a good thing.

I've got about 200 capsules to take and they aren't cheap . I put myself on them and I can take myself off them , I just thought it was worth a shot for my arthritis. The Dr prescribed Panadol Osteo but it dose nothing.
If it's a joint problem glucosamine is good. Probably best to check with at least the pharmacist if you're on other medication tho.
A certain warehouse of chemists is good pricewise too....

Hi folks! Spending lots of time getting the boys ready for school with registration, driver's ed., soccer practices, etc. plus, spending time with my brother. Been so busy, I hate it. lol Too much going on for me. Some people thrive on being busy, not moi.
I have a bit of arthritis, too. I don't take anything regularly, though. I did get some Joint Juice once. (A glucosamine drink) I didn't do it regularly enough to speak to it's benefits, but as we ALL said the word "glucosamine", you MUST take it now, aussie. lol
Take care everyone! 2 more weeks till Labor Day, then school starts! Gahh!! My kids need shoes!
