Hi guys, it seems like everyone had a pretty good day. Samantha...I'm sorry you had a rough day but so glad you didn't drink!

I'm sorry I haven't been as active on here for the past few days but I've been lurking & reading! Our 3 kids are keeping me crazy busy & I'm headed out of town for s few days tomorrow for more college visits and a soccer tourney so I may not be able to check in as much.

Casey...your visual of me as a winking cat cracks me up! MEOW! ;-) lol

I'm exhausted! I ran again tonight! Still training for that 5k and still sober. Day 4 complete.

Nite guys!!!

I was reading earlier about urges and AVs. I never heard of AVs. Iguess I was my AVs AV. When I gave up my AV is 'have a drink' I told it no, man, no drinking I told you. I was my Addictive voices, Annoying voice haha

All is well Casey - just had a morning of appointments

Helping others really was the way out of my problems, for sure

you've done a lot for other folks here over your time at SR, as have In Control and SW. Thanks to you all - and the many others who help make this place great

So Dee, are you a 1974 baby too?

We discovered there were a few 1974 babies in our class last night.

Glad you're OK, Dee. I guess I just get used to starting to see your name pop up everyday at around 4 or 4:30 pm my time so I missed it today.

KiKi--good luck with your various trips. Please make time to at least pop in and say hello in the morning and goodbye in the evening. Even a one sentence hello would be wonderful for the rest of us and for you too. Keep those accountability muscles flexing!

Bookcase three-quarters finished. It kinda feels satisfying to put something together, even if it is just a cheap particle board bookcase.

Unfortunately the nearest IKEA is 300 miles away from me. Texas is a big state. So, no, I went to the closest thing we have to IKEA--Target.

It's all loaded up with books now and I've still got a couple of shelves worth of room to grow. I used to be a book hoarder but sold my massive collection (seriously, we're talking like 6,500-7,000 volumes) about eight years ago and now try to limit myself to just those I truly love. Still I'm back at shelf #6 now. Going to hurt when I do finally move out of this place.

And I love this idea. I've got some sweet and hot pickled jalapenos in my fridge now. Going to try that one out tomorrow. Or maybe tonight depending on how much longer I stay up. That AA coffee meeting splurge is still kicking in me.

I've done M&Ms in popcorn before. That's always good too when the popcorn gets hot enough to sorta melt the inside of the candy but leave the outside shell intact.

Haha! I thought only moderators here had that fancy accent power, Dee. I'll do it up right the next time I have to mention that store.

Edit: Tésting. Ha! Pérféct! Sometimes it's nice having a Mac. They make everything so easy. Except when they don't.

Peaceful Rain was right--pickled jalapenos and popcorn are a wonderful mix.

Goodnight, Marchapaloozians! Hope you have a great day, immri. Talk to everyone in the morning.

SMH??? What are you doing to me? What does this one mean?

This day didn't start well. Charlie kept us awake by barking a lot (and he growled at DH), and when DH got up this morning he discovered that Charlie had peed inside. There's fur everywhere, and there's absolutely no evidence of me mopping the floor yesterday. It's pouring down out there and the house smells of wet dog, and I have to go into work to talk to my boss about next year - and I just KNOW that something bad is going to present itself. So, I know only a few acronyms, but they fit really well today. FUBAR, SNAFU, FML, KMN.

I drank last night. I want to make excuses and say that an open bottle of vodka just poured itself into my mouth or whatever other nonsense I can come up with....but I can't.....I purposefully went to the liquor store, I purposefully bought a bottle of vodka and I purposefully drank it as fast as I could to ensure that I would pass out and turn my brain off. My DH isn't speaking to me this morning so I'm unsure what I might have done or said....but it obviously wasn't good. I am ashamed, I am embarrassed and I really hate myself right now. But it is not like these are new emotions - I have been in this exact spot before and somehow I end up right back here.....it's hopeless. I'm really sorry

So sorry to hear that Sam but I'm glad you came and told us. I have to walk my dog he's going nuts, but I'll be back in 30 mins. Thinking of you, big hugs.
And it's not hopeless, I think we've all been there. You can still do it.
