Thanks for the new thread, Dee.
Congratulations, milestoners!
Thanks for the lovely Penuche (!?) cake. It was delicious.
What's this I hear about "a dusting of snow"? The birds and I are not too happy about it.
On the other hand, the tulips have started to shoot up. Yay.
24 more hours please.

Made it to day 3! I'd forgotten how good it feels to wake up free from the horrible anxiety, guilt, shame and self-hatred from drinking the night before.
Trying to recognize my patterns...today I need to be aware when I feel stressed or anxious. I will cope with emotions and life's ups and downs in healthier ways and not convince myself that I need to drink to get through them or drink to keep this good feeling going. It's a lie and I know it. The only way for me to wake up tomorrow with this good feeling is to not drink today. No matter what.
oh...and I will also make sure I eat a snack (maybe even some chocolate) around 3pm when those drinking thoughts creep in. The hungry in HALT really does apply to me.
Have a peaceful, sober day everyone!

Thanks Dee -- the 'writing on the wall' tells me you are all very busy. Good luck with the battle!
