I started to read "Reinventing Your Life" when my husband walked out on me 5 years ago ( bitter much ? ) but wasn't in the right place to really do the work. It was given to me by my therapist and I just recently went through the checklists and statarted to read it again.

Under the influence. It's a great explanation of what alcohol does to us physiologically.

Also her best kept secret. Its about the rise of alcoholism in women and what to do about it. Haven't got to the what to do about it part yet.

Third one is called "being sober", it's written by a doctor from the Betty Ford clinic and uses the treatment plan they use there.

So glad it's Friday. Looking forward to catching up on house work and repotting my plants this weekend. Being sober of course.

I hope you all have a great sober day.

I got the book pretty cheap, it looks brand new but bought it "used".

I will try to watch the movie, I have a hard time watching movies sometimes, I still have kind of ADD mode going on in my brain.

Good movie though is "crazy heart " with Jeff Bridges. Pretty much an exact life story of an alcoholic.

Apple, that makes total sense and is something we have all experienced. I have to watch out for the anxiety situations more ( it doesn't take much to bring me to my knees) but the "I can handle it" is sneakier.

Agreed Optimist. I have to recognize my own patterns and I am more likely to relapse in moments of euphoria and excitement rather than when feeling down or angry.

Super busy with work today. Will try to catch up over the weekend. DAY 5 and doing great. I've told both my mom and husband I'm done drinking and can't just have one or two drinks. I've got accountability on my side this time. And a great group of people here on SR! Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning Class! Day 6 here and I feel like this virus is finally moving on. I still have a sore throat but I have more energy. No doubt the withdrawals played a huge role in my physical symptoms. Glad that's over.

I planned on going to visit my grandchildren this weekend but after talking to my DIL, we decided to hold off on the overnight until I'm better. No sense in getting them sick.

My grandson spent the night last night and I have today off so we're just hanging out. I LOVE my grands!!!!

I slipped and I'm starting a new day one. I would really like to stay in this class, however. If nobody has any objections.

Oh my goodness, this class has been busy! Hope I can catch up. I'm really glad I found this site.

[QUOTE=Delizadee;5831100]
And I do ramble. A lot. I can also talk forever and never really get to my point. I am working on not being so "wordy".[\QUOTE]
[QUOTE]
You're describing me there Delizadee. I feel exactly the same way :-)[\QUOTE]

Me too. I was recently officially 'diagnosed' ADHD. People who know me well said "well, DUH!" LOL. I was on meds for it, with the idea that being less scatterbrained might keep the AV at bay, but I felt it didn't help.

Wait, have I posted that already? Probably.

I'm the post-it queen. I have to jot down literally everything!
