knb, rent a movie! We use Netflix and Amazon a lot for that.
I feel too restless to even watch a movie I think. I almost need a meeting. Like I need to be with like minded people just to let off some steam and talk about my day. Prob why I am posting a lot tonight.

But will have a look at amazon

Can you get to a meeting at this hour?

How about a coffee shop with wifi? I think being around people helps, even if you don't know them. At least for me. I'm pretty sociable, but have managed to isolate myself quite well in the last few years, especially the last year. I used to volunteer a TON, but now don't. I want to go back to work, at least part time, but my recovery team thinks I should wait a bit. Recover, then work. I was planning to start my own business, but kept getting overwhelmed with it all, and well, we all know where that leads us, sigh. [I used to work in laboratories]

Knb, when I would go out I would drink beer. I rarely ordered hard alcohol, except I went through a White Russian period after seeing the Big Lebowski.
This all got out of control after the end of a very long relationship. For some reason I started buying a mid priced vodka made in Oregon. Then I started drinking at home and bought the cheapest, most vile hard alcohol you can imagine. I recognized I had a problem and thought I could cut back if I bought crazy expensive hard alcohol, so for a while I was buying 50 and 70 dollar bottles of whiskey and brandy. That didn't work. I drank em at the same rate as the cheap stuff. At some point I switched to a form of beer. The stuff I bought was so ghetto and so embarrassing I've never posted about it--so deep is my shame.
So, to answer your question, I was a real garbage drinker. I would literally drink anything. I was thinking about that yesterday, and by far the worst thing I ever drank was some type of peppermint schnapps. Even I drew the line there. No schnapps.
I never got into wine. My lowest point was about a year ago when I went into a grocery store at about 9 a.m., unshaven, and bought two bottles of cheap wine. That was close to rock bottom.
This has been cathartic. I was feeling a little wobbly today, but reliving some of this makes me realize that I can't ever take a chance by drinking, evah again.

Me too. I have an amazon shopping cart that's just about full. I need to pull the trigger on that sh*t and buy me some goodies!

I couldn't believe it when she handed it to me. I did one of those closed lip smiles and muttered, "gee thanks." I was thinking, "who are you, Satan? Nice test there, God. Real funny stuff." So I put it in her fridge "for later," and it's still there as far as I know. It was a dilemma because it's a gift so I can't just dump it out, but I knew if I took it home I'd hammer it down, no mixer needed. This happened either right before I decided to stop cold turkey or right after, I can't remember. It might have been a late Christmas gift. No idea.

Relationships ending is a big trigger to go mad. That's why I am kindof OK being single at the moment. I can't imagine being with a boyfriend who drinks. All my boyfriends drank. That what we did. Drink together and the rest.mad times.

Sometimes it's good to write down the crap that you did when you drank. It really works for me because yes, it's a reminder of why we started this journey. None if us want to go back to that place. Ugh. Makes me shudder thinking about it. The ugly obsession for alcohol. That self destruct don't give a fcuk for me nor for you button we have
High five to you for getting this far. I an sorry I bit your head off. I was feeling sorry for myself. You can bite my head off in return to make it fair. Lol.
Er.no don't. Lol

Can't get to a meeting now but just joined Netflix and found my movie for tonight. Thanks GG. Gonna hit the sack in 39 minutes and enjoy my film. It's called "into the wild"

Good to see posts today from ppl. Feeling alone for some reason.
JL I will join you! I feel so blasted fat from all the food I have been devouring. I got a brand new spanking treadmill in my garage and I only used it once. I want to make an effort this week.
How about tomorrow???

No worries, as they say. I have a bit of an ego, so I don't get too worked up by head biting. I care about everyone here, but it would be pretty hard to hurt my feelers. It's sort of like another day at work for me!
