Love this group. Need some more check-ins today from a few people I think.

Heading into Saturday afternoon/evening. Dig deep.
I'll probably get it to watch after bedtime.

3 boys, 12,6,3. Chaos!!

I love our group too.

Jl- hope your day gets better.

On the gardening, I have 5 acres. Chickens galore. Love my farm life. It's like learning to live again and learning to love all my pleasures over again doing it sober.

GG, it's under Forums-->Newcomers Daily Support Threads.

Applekat, I really needed to hear that. Very sweet of you!

OT--also loved the two analogies from your sponsor. Btw I always get homework! I get it from my counselor and I get it from my addictions recovery group daily. But I have never realized so much about myself in such a short time and am really starting (slowly) to change, and I credit that largely to that annoying HW!

"We all suffer from that critical voice in our heads pointing out all our faults and how incapable we are. One of the reasons a lot of us drink is to get rid of that annoying voice. For me my 'inadequacy' came through lack of confidence. We need to learn how to quiet that voice WITHOUT the drink." YES.

Congratulations CuteNGay!!

Have to go back to the conference now. I came to a later session and am glad I did.

We're going out for big bowls of Pho soup. My son and I are both craving it [rather, our noses are]. Yucky colds, go away!! In better news, his fever has subsided.

OOTT, hope you find some good forage.

Day 1 here. I've had so many restart days. I don't recognize myself and truly need to change. I've found this forum helpful in the past.
Struggling with anxiety.

PamperingMe - Well done on coming back and starting again, it's not easy. What will you do differently this time? Having a recovery plan is a good idea. Are you also posting in the March class?

Just checking in. Day 19 has come to an end. All going strong just eating way too much these days, but who cares as long as i leave the booze alone. Will worry about dieting when i have things proparly under control.

Going to start jogging again from tomorrow. Need to burn the callories from the constant eating.

Have an awesome sober weekend my fellow class mates. We can do it!!!!

For everyone that has been fighting sickness are you taking multi vitamins? Or drinking Emergen-C?

For as little sleep as I get I would think I would be prime target for a bad cold but I haven't had worse than sniffles(KNOCK ON WOOD).

I think...It may be bc I take a prenatal vitamin still everyday. And when colds are around we drink Emergen-C. Also...hubby just found Emergen-Zzzzz which is same thing but with added melatonin.

Of course, now that I've posted this....I'm sure I'll come down with some major illness. :/ LOL

So weird - I was just looking on my desk, and the book I was thinking of rereading is Drinking: A Love Story. Then I glanced at your post. OK - think that is fate telling me this is the book to read again!

Freedom - Ha! Just focus on staying sober for now, the rest can come later. I keep trying to cut down but then my brain says "ice cream instead of vodka sounds good". Guess it's better than it saying "GO GET A DRINK NOW!".

Applekat - I started taking multivitamins and minerals this morning, I hope to stick with it daily. Maybe I'll become invincible.

amyrose - I loved that book, I read it in the library when I was pretending to be at work and thinking I might have a drinking problem. Some parts of it really spoke to me, and it was the first book on drinking I'd ever read. I returned everyday just so I could finish it and tried to ignore my shaking hands. Feels like a lifetime ago!

Er. Hello class. Eek. Feel a bit bashful. Giggle. Erm

Want to apologise for my tantrum to the class especially to OOTT ((BiiiigBear hug). Forgive me but my emotions are all over the place. I threw my toys out the pram when I should have stepped back for a bit. It's something I am working on.

I needed to take a break to come back. I was always going to come back because I have starts this incredible journey with you guys ( group hug). Been reading all your posts by the way. Sorry For jumping the gun and I never meant to upset anyone. All I want to do us encourage, support and love you guys. I know this us a struggle for each and everyone of you as it is for me. I really want us to do this together.

Can we move on from this blimp? I feel like a right dork

By the way Cococo has gone travelling and there is no internet where she is. She will be back.

I had a battle with non alcoholic cooking wine earlier on. Couldn't decide if I should use it for cooking tomorrow's stew. I picked it up, then put it back, then picked it up and bought it. Then poured half of it down the drain with the intention of just using the other half for cooking tomorrow..then poured the rat down the drain an hour later.

I know I know. One flew over the cuckoos nest. I feel like I belong there today

But on a good note I am 40 days sober :-))))

It's good to have you back knb. It's understandable that your emotions were all over the place, we've all been numbing ourselves with alcohol for a long time and it's not easy to get back into the swing of things! We all really missed you and your input, of course we can move on from this!

Applekat - Ha! SuperTomato, I love it.

Hi class

It's 11am and I'm about to start driving home now. Im in a township having morning tea before I head home. I do get internet reception here.

Welcome back knb.

Welcome PamperingMe. Despite a few posters hinting that you should move to the March thread because you're starting on day 1, please know that you can post in whichever thread you feel comfortable. We DO need to feel comfortable actually. What benefit is a member going to get from posting in a thread where they don't feel comfortable?

I'm doing ok. If anybody cares. Thanks for the well wishes - not! I posted that I was struggling and it was completely overlooked! There were even members and SR administrators online at the same time, but nothing. Is it a hint to bugger off to March thread or elsewhere.

Thanks OT. Yep. The alcohol did wonders to make me forget about things that niggled me. It also made me very self centred because all I could think about was my hangover was the next morning, never mind the problem and reason why I drank in the first place. Your sponsor sounds great. I have had zero support from mine.
