Clocking on for another 24 please 8:02am AEST. Hi Coco, I have not forgiven the things my mother has done, but I have now managed to let go. Some things are unforgivable but I no longer allow them to effect me and no longer carry the weight of anger and fruitless attempts at approval. I try to parent myself now and hence I'm sober and engage with people who are not intent on reducing me. It is so much better and I am so much happier. I am proud now Kris thank you so much. Congratulations to all milestoners and see you same place tomorrow. We rock.

Yes, we do, Steely.
Along with sobriety and working the steps comes a new freedom. We don't have to carry those burdens anymore. Whatever plan or program you choose to stay sober we all need to come to terms with our past and then let it go.
We are never cured of alcoholism but we can and do heal.

Wow, this thread has been super busy in the last 24 hours and so many new (?) members. What an amazing troupe of committed sober souls ! The love and compassion shown truly bolster one's belief in human nature.
Congrats to the milestoners ! My wishes that we all continue this journey committed and fearless especially those that are starting or restarting. Have patience and compassion for yourself as you would a dear friend.
Its the last day of summer here. So, I thought I'd share a pic of the view I have after my Sunday run along park land. Its where I do my warm down and stretches ! Sorry about resolution though as I cant do a bigger pic here

Its about midday on day 10 for me.
The weather is warm and calmly raining today. I don't mind the rain when its not blowing a gale. I like the sound of it. We have had some hot and dry days this summer and really need the rain. My grass lawn is brown. Im grateful for the rain.
