Good morning. Have to get ready for work but wanted to post on this 17th day! I just keeping thinking, I'm getting closer and closer to 30, yay! (This is a forever decision, but I'm excited for milestones).

Hope everyone has a great sober day, if you feel weak just post! I'll be happy to remind you to eat ice cream! (Just kidding, I'll stop that).

Have a great day guys.

Thank you Ladybug. I want to beat my last target which was 43 days of sobriety. You and I were in that same class when I reached that point. I still post there but its quiet. Which always happens..class is full at the beginning but many people leave after a few months.

My son hasn't said anything but its very obvious that we are getting on better. I have more time for him and I engage in conversation with him. We laugh a lot more. Its all good

At the Drs office. Probably the flu. Bad.
Ok : here's the alcohol affecting my thought processes story. About 2 weeks ago I decided out of the blue to start checking my BP. Bee under control for yrs with medication. I started using a wrist monitor I had from a job in the past on an ambulance. Used wrist monitor in that job because a lot of our patients had fistulas for dialysis- couldn't use arm pressures.
I kept getting way way high readings. Scared me bad. I used a sick day and went to the doctors office.
Turns out wrist monitor gives bum high readings in general.
Now I'm really sick, back out of work the next week. That's a real pressure point as they like to slam ppl for being out.
Point is, not once did I think to use a different monitor, or get someone to check my BP , just freaked out.
That's an example of the booze cycle I've been in. Never get past a weekend, so I never get better.
It helps to write this down !

Morning. Operating on not much sleep, but I'll take it over a hangover. Got an appt. with my counselor today. I've got something I want to talk about, but not sure how he'll react, so I'm cautious. That and the annoying busywork. Gotta remain calm and try mindfulness.

JL, my blood pressure is high as well, especially while drinking or right after a bender. Alcohol definitely elevates it. I've read stories here on SR about others with the same problem whose BP returned all the way to normal after a period of sobriety. So keep that in mind.

Have a good day all.

Finished work on day 9. Wife down with the flu so i need to cook dinner and then off to my sons prize giving for the cricket season.

The post about the final weekend made me think about my last weekend. What a shamefull experience and i refuse to return to that lifestyle.
Congrats on day 30. Looking forward to getting there.

Have an awesome day everyone and stay strong. We can do this

I don't know if any of my fellow teammates here wear a Fitbit or something similar but I just got one yesterday, I have been wanting one for ages and want to get back into my running and workout DVDs. Anyway, it also tracks your sleep, which for me has been crap since having children and especially young children. Last night my Fitbit told me I slept:

950-1041
1047-132
139-202
210-319
326-409
410-454

Yuck! I could handle the 6.5 hours total if it was UNINTERRUPTED. But in such snippets it is so hard to handle - they barely count to me lol!

Happy sober Wednesday Team. Merely day 3 here but I will always take another sober day no matter what!

Thank you Apple. I cringed writing that post cause it shows me how sick I am. I can never be complacent. I can never think I am normal cause that behaviour is far from normal. I never use to be as bad as this but it creeps up the older I get. I just I found more reasons to drink .

The readout is actually a little funny to read now that I posted the specific times bc sometimes I am sitting still feeding baby, but yes up so so so much, just bc of nighttime feedings, binky replacement, re-tuck ins.

I hadn't heard of any recalls, people obv use it primarily as a step counter. I had 500 steps by 6 AM.

I need proper exercise of course eventually.

knb02 - Congratulations on reaching day 30! You're posts were literally making me laugh this morning...thanks for your wonderful sense of humor!

JL2014 - sorry you have the flu!

Your post reminded me of my alcoholic thinking...I actually truly convinced myself that I was better off drinking because whenever I stopped, I would get sick. I convinced myself that the drink must act as some sort of antibacterial or antiviral agent helping me NOT to get sick. So I thought I better keep drinking so I don't get sick! Brilliant right? (not)

I was "alone" last night (with my daughter) and as I expected, the moment my husband left the house...out of habit, the AV started to creep up...slowly and stealthily...telling me...just one beer can't hurt...just one beer with dinner is fine.

Although I felt "tired" and just wanted to sit on the couch...I ended up pulling out the old, original Tae Bo workout that I used to do back in the late 90's / early 2000's and literally kicked my AV's butt (and punched it too).

I think I'm going to have to do more Tae Bo and picture my AV as my opponent! :-)

Yes Applekat...it is Billy Blanks...I really like his original videos...the newer stuff (on DVD) wasn't as effective (at least for me). I got into some pretty good shape back then with those workouts and it was very enjoyable for me to do and I a good release. I'm 45 now...but it took me back to when I was 30 and in much better shape before I started drinking heavily.
