24-hour Recovery Connections Part 109
An older gentleman shoved a drink into my face while I was on the elevators asking "Have you tried these???" It was such a putrid smell (not sure if it was the drink or the old man) that I didn't react well. I'm usually a very kind person, but I abruptly pushed it and him away saying I don't drink. It was just the two of us, and I was not comfortable with this intrusion of this man in my space and this glass of poison in my face. He sulked to the other side of the elevator and said "That's probably a wise choice" or something like that. It made me soooo mad. But people started drinking when they got up. Seriously sad. They could have stayed home and done that. Why spend that much money to do a trip then be unable to enjoy any of the sites or adventures. Let's see. . . let's go Zip Lining with a hangover or drunk. . . um, no. LOL! Anyhoo. . . I'm great! And Life is good. I enjoyed my trip and remember every.single.minute!
You know, I would JUMP at this offer and I am looking at where to move that has more sun. The main consideration is to not be too far from my kiddos. Right now they are a short flight or a few days drive away. Australia would add a few days to that drive.... LOL! But nothing is off the list while I look for our retirement location. Yeah, I'm a beach girl and my feet prefer flip flops.
Hey gang! I'm BACK!!! Yes, we just got home a few hours ago and I wanted to stop the unpacking to let you all know we are home, safe and sound. BEAUTIFUL TRIP with my lovely family. We are 100% exhausted, though. LOL! Yes, we had fun and played a LOT! The hardest part was putting my flip flop back in my suitcase and putting on heavy, warm sock and shoes. I really do think I belong on a tropical beach all year long. LOL! Now, if only my budget would cooperate. Anyhoo, life is good, and I'm 100% okay. Met some fellow recovery folks the first day and there were meetings on the ship. I didn't attend, but it was nice there were a bunch of us NOT drinking. There were so many drunk people, though. Seriously, after witnessing some of them, I'm THRILLED I'm not in that group any longer. Life is good.
I dislike the fact that just because we are all on vacation with him we should be drinking too. Why do people assume it goes hand in hand? And that everyone would spend their free time doing such?
