We have some Friendly's French vanilla here. Had a little bit last night. Going to try to stick with a triple zero mixed berry yogurt for dessert tonight.

Sorry. Not much of a help over here for those watching sweets.

Love me some yogurt, Phoebe. Every morning it's whole milk yogurt and berries.

Watching sweets? Does that mean counting calories? I know how you love your whole milk Arbor love.
Ok, I'm going....the cat litter isn't going to buy itself.

Hi gang. What a busy day and the high light was my credit card getting hacked and someone having a field day at my expense. Jerks.

But a fresh weekend awaits and I always feel better about things when I spend a little time checking here on some of my favorite peeps!

That has happened to me, also, Mark and more than once - on one occasion it was a nightmare and on the other just an inconvenience.

Our credit card company called just the other day to say that our card had been compromised 'as reported to them by law enforcement' - no further explanation - just a "please cut your card up; we will send you replacements".

My suspicion is that many breaches occur at restaurants as they temporarily take possession of your card during which time they can steal your credit card number and the security code.

It's more likely a hack programmed into the card reader than staff.
That's terrible that you have both been hacked/compromised.
Glad you are on top of things, as are the banks and police.

That's true Leigh, I never feel really good about sending my card away with someone. I'm considering becoming more of a cash guy....especially at restaurants.

The charges will be taken off the account, it's just all a hassle and my work days aren't conducive to being on the phone with the card company....throws me off schedule and that does not make for a happy Mark! The good news is that the card company caught it, and I am grateful for that.

Good night gang!

Edit to add....hi V......happy Friday.

That's scary, too. That is apparently what happened at a recent Home Depot breach of which we were a part (unrelated to any unauthorized use of our card but necessitating cancellation of the card and reissuance). It's becoming all too commonplace.

Hi guys. Continues to be difficult over here. Depression, obviously, and I'm stressed at work because they are preparing to cut my assistant again like they did last year, and I feel like I'm right back where I was when I relapsed. I'm trying to take care of myself and make the right decisions this time, so I asked my doctor to write me out of work for a few days next week so I can focus on my recovery and come up with a plan for coping with the stress. I hate to lose time from work when I'm already so overwhelmed, and I'm feeling very guilty about it, but I realize I really need to take a step back and come up with a plan to protect my recovery right now. I'm working on accepting my limitations and reprioritizing to put my health and sobriety above work. This feels half like success and half like failure, but I'm basically just doing exactly what I would tell a friend to do. I'm disappointed in myself for being "weak," but I'm aware that it's possible to reframe this to be positive, and I'm working on that.

Just like you guys are saying - be sober for you. It really just comes down to taking care of yourself so you can live a better life. So simple but so hard sometimes. You all inspire me.

Mark - that sucks, we've had our credit card reissued like four times in the past year for that reason (including the Home Depot and Target ones). So irritating, and it's nearly impossible for them to catch people who do it.

No ice cream necessary for me, still digging my chocolate chia seed pudding.

This feels half like success and half like failure,
You know the saying two steps forward, one step back?

"Two steps forward one step back..." is a catchphrase reflecting on an anecdote about a frog trying to climb out of a water well; for every two steps the frog climbs, it falls back by one step, making its progress arduous.

But the frog makes it.

You have made leaps and bounds in the past year darling Briar.
I know this is hard, and I know it is painful, but I think we deserve one day to celebrate.

I'm pretty chuffed we share the 27th....another month sober for me, and one whole year for you. We are doing this for ourselves, and we are doing it together. ♥

That saying definitely fits. I'd rather slip back a step than go plummeting all the way back into the well.

Briar, it's great that you are able to see that you need a strategy and are able to take the time for YOU.
