Definitely have to do it for yourself, Conquest. It's your commitment, your life. Plunge into that sober life wholeheartedly and things become clear.

And Venus, I hope your foot is healing up in the boot. I know it's got to be frustrating to wear.

This is going to be one of those weekends where I'm too booked up and busy to even consider drinking. The thoughts have popped up, but it would be too much of a disappointment if I let others down. And that makes me wonder... At what point will I make the decision to stay sober for myself, not just for others? Hmmmm... just food for thought. But not for meditation. Lol. No need to beat myself up today. Whatever the motivation may be, I've made a decision and I'm not changing my mind.

Make it a great Thursday, friends!
Be sober for beautiful and beautifully unique and one of a kind Conquest. With sobriety and recovery we can truly be the best that we can be.

I see you and your ways, AV. Take THAT!

Five more minutes left to say good morning gang! Let's see if I finish before it is afternoon, lol.

Staying sober for me. Really, it is all I ever am trying to do. My daughter does wish we did not drink, but not because it is a big family problem here, but because she has learned how unhealthy it is, along with other vices, and addictive substances, like cigarettes, and illegal drugs. So, I wonder why it seems so hard for me? I need to do some thinking about that. I really am not trying to get and stay sober because anyone has asked me to, or threatened me, or because of any lost job or relationship. I know it is bad for my health, and makes me lazy and depressed. So, I am better off without it. I guess, the thing with depression is that it can be very hard to see the other side and how good it can be when you are stuck in it. I realize this whenever I get out of it and am on the other side of that wall of darkness and gloom. In the thick of it, however, motivation is so hard to find.

All that said, I am having a good week. The weather has helped immensely. Today is perfectly balmy, but the wind kicked up and it will be much colder come tomorrow night. I have had a nice mile long walk with the dog, done a 30 minute upper body strengthening video, and my arms were shaking. I plan to get in a 30 minute cardio session on the elliptical as well. I need to shower, still, and plan to get out for another walk, simply because I know the fresh air is good for me and the dog. But, then, I have the usual laundry that never ends, and house stuff. Dog hair. Ugh. I could vacuum everyday. What was I thinking???

Need to make a cake tonight for hubby's bday tomorrow.

And now I can also say, good afternoon, lol. And, I guess good morning, for the Dee and V, who are likely sleeping now.

I feel better. I think it is because I shared that I was struggling. I was feeling great shame and trying to do it all alone, ashamed to admit I had fallen and needed support yet again. Coming clean and letting myself have all of your support and encouragement is freeing, and giving me a boost. I was, I am, embarrassed that I had failed, and could not admit it to you all.

Moving forward now... going to try to stay focused on my goals of being healthier and stronger.

Hi, phoebe. Afternoon here, now, too.

Staying sober for yourself is the most important reason to get sober. I hadn't lost anything tangible such as a job, relationship, or anything similar, either. But I had lost myself, my soul, my essence and I desperately wanted them back. No doubt, I was very broken.

Depression can certainly complicate recovery efforts and cloud our eyes from the goodness that lies ahead in sobriety. Sometimes we just need to take a leap of faith and trust what others have said about sobriety and the benefits they have experienced.

We walk with and beside you, dear phoebe.

Feeling better, not all better, Leigh. One day at a time. Really trying to embrace that this time.

My thoughts are straying to dinner tomorrow, when husband orders a beer. But, I have a solid week of really good eating and exercise and if I start drinking, there goes 600 or more calories I have worked really hard to burn off, and a lazy day after, where I will not exercise, most likely.

So, yeah, TODAY, I am not drinking. Rinse, repeat.

I like that a lot, Phoebe!

I guess I just woke up feeling tired and in need of some self-care. Soooo I got my hair trimmed and about to head out for a manicure. That should shine me right up in time to start an action-packed evening at home. It's definitely a splurge, but a little pampering goes a long way sometimes.

Speaking of pampering... Have y'all seen this monkey get groomed?! So cute.

The stress fracture is nowhere near as bad as the first time, and the broken toe is taped to its buddy. It hurts, but I can deal.
I am about to drive to the supermarket. It's not far, so hopefully no problem.

How are you tonight love?
