I read through half of the book 'The War of Art' this morning. It's short. Probably going to finish it after breakfast.
Then I put all the recycling out by the curb. Yay. Hate that chore.
My coffee is completely messed up this morning. Something happened when I heated the water in the electric kettle. It didn't come to a boil. I noticed it clicked off prematurely but dismissed it, anyway, poured the water in and realized it then. Ruined a whole French press carafe-full of coffee. Had to microwave each cup.
Had no internet connection until an hour ago. Had to use the phone for posting to the forum. Truly first world problems.

I scheduled my return appointment to the ortho. It's set for March 11th, which is two months post-surgery. I'm happy with that. That'll give me a little extra time to heal up before they recommence with the tooth torture.

Well, I'm ticked off. The orthodontist office is claiming I owe more than twice what they said I owed back in October. I have the statement in my hand. I've talked with the new staff and she wants to see the copy I hold in my hand. You bet she'll see a copy.
To make a long story short: My ortho (who was a quiet, kind-hearted, caring, intelligent man, btw) died by drowning last summer. A group of orthos has moved in from Atlanta, GA and Texas to take over the biz, but they are just opening one of many franchises they already run. So, they are rolling in dough and only growing their biz. Which is fine -- if they weren't such putzes. And believe me, they are putzes. One of the glitzy-glamorous owners chatted me up as I sat in the chair when they first took over. He bragged to me about his Midtown condo in Atlanta -- as if I give rip. Who cares? Just finish my teeth, dude.
Jesus H. Christ, I am so done with this teeth/jaw business.

I might have to dig that out of my filing system. I'm sure I've got it somewhere.
I really don't like this group that bought out his business. And I can tell the staff aren't thrilled either.
This statement lists "Comprehensive Orthodontic Treatment 1/1/15-12/31/15" at the top, and then shows all my payments, leaving a small remaining balance at the bottom.

Back from my oral surgeon visit... everything looks great. He said the incisions look great. My bite looks as it should. I told him about the supplements and he was impressed. He was pleasantly surprised that my feeling is already coming back in the right side of my chin and lip.
Told him I switched from the mouthwash to salt water.
Asked him when I can start running again -- 'right now,' he said.
He said I can start chewing and eating normal food if I want. I told him it felt pretty odd and sort of painful still. It's something I can work into slowly, he said. He assured me, once again, that it's ok that I'm waking up biting down. He said it won't hurt me at all. He said just beware of cage fighting, lol.
He talked books with me again. He said I should read Malcolm Gladwell's 'Outliers,' and I told him I almost bought it a while back. He asked me when I'm going to publish my stories. I said, 'Not yet.' Lol. Not ready. He asked about my novel. Again, not yet. I appreciate the push. It's not often I have conversations with real, live humans who are encouraging about my writing. Odd that it would be coming from my oral surgeon. Oh well.
I go back in six weeks, which will be three months post-surgery, and that's the point when most people are back to normal and eating regular food easily again. That's exciting.

SP, I'm so glad you got such news from the ortho dr. It sounds like you can begin getting back to normal with chewing and running. I'm sure you will feel great when you are back doing things as normal.
Hopefully when you get the records from the dental office, it will make sense to you and you won't owe a bunch of money unexpectedly.
